hi guys rawr here~
so I've been messing around with UDK (the main program used to make Futureproof by Kale Ryoko) recently and have learned many things in doing so.
Unwilling to commit to any huge projects at this time, I opted instead to do a much shorter demo sequence. There's no voiceovers, no amazing UIs and still many flaws but I hope ya still like it.

Epic video. Did you have to make all of the ships and backgrounds and other art or is all of that easily imported from Eve? I don't really get how UDK works.

It's imported but a little more complicated. Getting an EVE ship into UDK is easy, but making it look like it does in EVE is a whole different story (Phantasm came out great, Arby not so much...) and takes hours of tweaking

but anyways thx for the comments it's not perfect by any means, was mostly a fun little project while I had some spare time to learn a new program and get something done. I doubt I'd do anything too ambiitous with it, not by myself anyways, but who knows

Very cool!! The ship coming out of warp at the beginning looked very "movie-ish" and extremely cool! That part alone kept me watching the rest of it to see what other tricks you had for us! Job well done.
The only part I would "enhance" is some low-end bass rumbles as the ship passes by the "camera" view at the beginning. Music was catchy and cool but a little distracting from the battle scene.
9 out of 10! Would like to see more!!

engine trails were/are officially hawt and it's outrageous that they were removed, so given the power it only felt right to put them back in TBH.

I don't think CCP would allow it, but anyways you can extract the models to .3DS with TriExporter and then use another proggy (I used 3dsmax) to convert that to .ASE which can be imported into UDK (if that was your intention)

There is rumbling, maybe not as loud as it should be though.
I didn't put much work into sound effects as it's really an area I'm clueless about, plus my low-budget half-broken headset probably dosen't deliver the best sound quality  Anyways the music was a totally random selection from my library but it worked well enough with the pacing to stick.

I really liked the Cowboy Bebop music - did not even read your full text and from the first few notes i knew the music ... , and i also liked the Heavy Metal Queen inspired action in the vid, i was half expecting the Rupture to shoot in the caverns and cause some kind of cataclysmic explosion. :)
