Primary designation: Dust 514 Ground Combat Element. Secondayr designation: EvE Online Corporation, Logistics and Combat Support Element [LCSE]
Website: http://cmchq.lefora.com/
EvE Corp: Colonial Marine Corps LCSE [LCSE]
CMC at this time is not associated with any existing EvE online corporation or alliance, nor is it going to be purely a mercenary group. I do intend that CMC will play a significant role in determining the outcome of the ongoing battle over 0.0 space. My secondary objective is to enable the CMC player base to retain a high operational tempo 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Colonial Marine Corps was designed from the top down to essentially be a conglomerate of small independent thinking groups, with a stable centralized command element to establish a unified goal oriented mentality across the organization. These small independent thinking groups which we designate as platoons will be separated by time slots in which members of CMC typically find themselves playing. As a platoon in a specific time slot becomes large enough, it's players will be encouraged to branch off and create new platoons, even exclusive niche platoons may be formed, thereby creating a company of several platoons which play during a specific time slot. CMC will also be broken down into divisions which contain players who feel more comfortable speaking a specific language. For example, the First Division is geared for English speaking CMC members, whereas at some time in the near future, the Second Division may be geared for German, French or Russian speaking players. By this method, CMC plans to conduct operations 24 hours a day on any given day.

POINT MAN. When moving with a fixed team, the team leader should designate one team member as the point man. The team leader will still maintain control of the team, deciding the manner in which the team will move and its overall goals, however the point man will choose the route the team will take during movement. The team will base their movement and tactical formation off the point man. Designate the team member that is most likely to survive initial contact with the enemy as your point man.

The purpose of the CMC Ground Combat Element (GCE) is to engage and destroy the enemy in close combat. All members of CMC are a part of the GCE. Every CMC Marine will have a basic set of ground combat skills which may be dictated or strongly suggested by GCE command. The GCE may also be broken down into smaller parts, such as an Air Corps, an Armor Corps, an Engineering Corps etc... GCE command will attempt to spread load those who choose to specialize in a specific Corps across the various platoons within the CMC in order to better ensure that Marines with these special sets of skill are present in all engagements.

ALL AROUND SECURITY: Most important while working as a team is trusting that your team members are paying attention to their surroundings. The concept of all around security better ensures that enemy movement within sight is detected by ensuring that there are eyes looking in all directions and eliminating a compulsive need for all members of the team to look in all directions at once. This concept applies in stationary positions as well as while you move in formation with your team.

The purpose of the CMC CE is to provide CMC Marines with stable leadership around the clock. It is the responsibility of the CMC Officer Corps to ensure that all Marines are engaged as a team and working toward a greater goal which may be dictated by higher. Officers will ensure that the gaming environment does not become stagnant and remains fun for all CMC members. No CMC Officer will be below the age of 20. All CMC Officers will be trained in basic warfare theory and combat maneuvers.

From our members. *****************************************************
Quote:
Please all new members REMEMBER TO FOLLOW ALL basic instructions you recieve upon joining or you may not remain in the corps long do to failure to follow simple instructions. All recruits should *Read and Sign in on the ROE post. this ensures that you understand the Rules of Engagement and helps us tally our members and make sure they are able to be reached and compatent. * All recruits should look on the rank structure post, copy their rank avatar and apply it as their own avatar, I.E. new recruits are MAGGOTS, no offence but at the CMC you gotta earn your keep, its not hard, just use commen sence, show loyalty, and follow the few mandatory instructions that you are given. *Look for the CMC Training Division, and check in under the appropriate gaming platform with your gamer tags and games your play. This helps the Corps stay connected and comunicate accross multiple games and multiple platforms hopefully allowing our members to always have a friend who can watch their back.
* It is a good Idea to download Ventrillo onto your computer. it is a voice communications program allowing for out of game comunication. We sometimes use these for officer meetings, online gamming, and other situations where the Corps feels it's nessicary. just got to www.google.com and google ventrillo then download the client version.
*if members intend to compete in Clan matches then they should, as soon as possible, sign up on gamebattles, find the gamebattles team post and post in there signing in and letting people know your down to fight, then send SGT Drunknmonky a friend request and a message letting him know that you wish to join the team and need an invite. the link for the website is www.gamebattles.com the name of the team is, obviously, Colonial Marine Corps and you can do a team search to find it, or go directly to http://gamebattles.com/xbox360/battlefield-bad-company-2/team/colonial-marine-corps. you can also do a member search and find me or SGT or anyother team member click on there name and then click the CMC team link under their profile. members on the team HAVE to sign up and be on the gamebattle team no later than 12 hours before a match to be eligable to play in said match THIS IS NOT NEGOTIABLE.
*All members should youtube Dust514 and figure out what it is about. members could also visit www.EVE-Online.com to figure out the game that dust514 will be directly affecting. Know that we have an in game eve corp as well so you can join that if you play the game. You can also google dust514 or visit dust514.org to get allot of up to date info and even see the original CMC startup post lol. * Lastly, dont forget to stop and find out who your supperiors are and which members help administrate which aspects of the Corps. basically, KNOW THE CHAIN OF COMMAND and direct inquiries to the appropriate superiors and not strait to the top. The CMC's chain of command is structured for Effeciency and we thank you for further helping it remain effecient Oh and one more thing you MAGGOTS LETS GET TACTICAL

Lieutenant (LT): As a Lieutenant, it is expected that you will coordinate and lead CMC operations from the front lines. You will activly seek out and accept leadership oportunities when higher level commanders are not available. You are authorized to accept contracts within the guidence of higher commanders. If you are a platoon commander, you will be responsible for ensureing that training is conducted and that minimum training standards are met. You will also ensure that your platoon remains active during it's prime time hours, this means that you are also responsible for ensuring that new members are recruited.

Please visit your user settings to re-enable images. Primary designation: Dust 514 Ground Combat Element. Secondary designation: EvE Online Corporation, Logistics and Combat Support Element [LCSE]
Website: http://cmchq.lefora.com/
EvE Corp: Colonial Marine Corps LCSE [LCSE]
CMC at this time is not associated with any existing EvE online alliance, nor is it going to be purely a mercenary group.
Membership status levels:
Enlisted- Enlisted members consist of both casual and hard core FPS gamers. Activity requirements for enlisted members are relatively relaxed, however just like all members of CMC, they must follow the CMC ROE. If you are currently in a player corp, fear not. CMC does not require enlisted members to resign from their current posts.
Warrant Officer- To become a Warrant Officer you must intend to play both Dust 514 and EvE online. If you choose to gain Warrant Officer status, you must commit your primary character to the organization by joining the Logistics and Combat Support [LCSE] EvE Online Corp. You will not retain membership in any other player run corp and you must not allow for any other individuals to access your account.
Commissioned Officer- In order to obtain Commissioned Officer status, you must reach a minimum age requirement, as well as dedicate your online gaming time to the CMC exclusively. The organization is your online gaming family and you will be willing to make sacrifices as necessary in order to ensure the wellbeing of the community. At a later time, you may be required to submit personal contact information in order to allow for the CMC command staff to contact you outside of the online gaming environment. Participation in the CMC L&CSE is encouraged but not required.

The CMC L&CSE will be made up players who play both Dust 514 and EvE Online. These players will use their EvE Online account primarily to support the CMC Ground Combat Element. "-Initially at least, the economies of EVE and DUST will be kept as separate as possible. CCP do not want co-dependency between the games." Although CCP does not want the games to be co-dependent, we can assume that there will be elements of each game that will affect the other. ô-EVE Pilots will own the majority of planetary districts, this will be introduced in the expansion following Dominion. -DUST marines will be securing key staging area districts. -Hiring Dust Marines will not be mandatory, but it will make the capture of planets easier.ö The CMC L&CSE will have the capability to gain and retain territory and the CMC Combat Element will assist in the seizure and defense of this territory. ô-DUST players will have to use the war barge to attack hostile worlds. -There are two methods a DUST marine can use to get from planet A to planet B. The first is to clone jump, using similar technology to EVE Pod pilots. The second is to use their corps War Barge and fly to a hostile planet.ö This statement suggests that the DUST marines can exist on their war barge in EvE space where the barge will be open to attack by hostile EvE players. Instead of depending of independent EvE players to escort our war barges, members of CMC L&CSE will provide escort assistance.

In short I need a hand full of trustworthy and driven individuals who are goal oriented and committed to the CMC. As a CMC officer you will be held to a higher standard. You will be expected to make sacrifices and follow more stringent rules in regards to membership than that of the enlisted personnel. In order to minimize conflicts in interest with adjacent organizations you will be expected to resign from all other EvE and Dust corporations making CMC your one and only home.
Requirements:1) Must be at least 20 year old. I realize that an 18 year old can display just as much maturity and ability to lead as those of us that are a bit older. However I need officers that can command respact from a mature gaming community where first impressions can be a deal breaker. Another reason is I believe that our key power players will be between the ages 18 and 25. These players shouldn't be burdoned with the responisibility of command and should be aloud to consentrate on killing the enemy. 2) Must disclose all relationships with other EvE and Dust organizations to CMC command and must no longer retain membership in any other such organization. You must also be prepared to take up arms against your former gaming organizations. Honor your former comrades by maintaining your integrity with CMC, giving both your current and former teams the best fight you can give them (it is only a game after all). 3) And all other requirements as directed by CMC command at a future time.
Failure to adhere to any of the above conditions is grounds for being removed from the Command Element and the L&CSE where applicable. In extreme cases, a member can be permanently banned for CMC if command staff sees fit.
Accelerated Commissioning Program: CMC members who are below the age of 20, who have been in service with CMC for no less than eight (8) months and have proven to CMC command to be exceptional leaders, may be commissioned as a CMC officer. This will be done on a case by case basis by CMC command staff. http://cmchq.lefora.com/2010/01/21/officers-needed/#post9

Warrant Officers
As a Warrant Officer in the CMC, you have dedicated your EvE character(s), including personal assetts to supporting the conduct of CMC ground combat operations. As a Warrant Officer, you will be assigned to a CMC platoon that operates in conjunction with your regular play times. If you are the platoons Contract Officer, you are responsible for keeping the platoon gainfully employed in accordance with your commanders intent. As an individual you must be completely self sufficient, relying on your personal skill set and inginuity to protect CMC assetts and support CMC operations unassisted deep within enemy territory. As a part of a team you are proficient in fleet tactics ranging from small scale escort duties that will be vital to deploying our ground forces, up to large fleet maneuvers that will be employed in support of our clientele.

Lieutenant (LT): As a Lieutenant, it is expected that you will coordinate and lead CMC operations from the front lines. You will actively seek out and accept leadership opportunities when higher level commanders are not available. You are authorized to accept contracts within the guidance of higher commanders. If you are a platoon commander, you will be responsible for ensuring that training is conducted and that minimum training standards are met. You will also ensure that your platoon remains active during it's prime time hours, this means that you are also responsible for ensuring that new members are recruited.

CMC will also be broken down into regiments which contain players who feel more comfortable speaking a specific language. For example, the First Regiment is geared for English speaking CMC members, whereas at some time in the near future, the Second Regiment may be geared for German, French or Russian speaking players. By this method, CMC plans to conduct operations 24 hours a day on any given day.
Membership status levels:
Enlisted- Enlisted members consist of both casual and hard core FPS gamers. Activity requirements for enlisted members are relatively relaxed, however just like all members of CMC, they must follow the CMC ROE. If you are currently in a player corp, fear not.

Warrant Officers As a Warrant Officer in the CMC, you have dedicated your EvE character(s), including personal assetts to supporting the conduct of CMC ground combat operations.

Edited by: DocThunder on 20/05/2011 10:58:35 Organization Implementation Plan.
1. Gentlemen, with the possibility of a release date just over the horizon; itÆs time to start going away from our conceptual organizational goals and start looking at the reality of our current posture. 1.a. Clarification on conceptual organizational goals: Many things have changed since the inception of this organization but not all of those changes have been properly recorded in the New Member Orientation forum. The organization from the top down is as follows. 1.a.1. Corps: This is the overall organization. The commanding officer of the Corps is a general. The Corps is made up of several Divisions. 1.a.2. Division: A division is made up of all Marines within the organization who play a particular MMOFPS or FPS in a persistent environment. The first Division is the Dust 514 Division. The commanding officer of a division is a General. A division is made up of several regiments. 1.a.3. Regiment: A regiment is made up of all Marines who feel most comfortable speaking a particular language while gaming. The commanding officer of a regiment is a colonel. It is divided into up to four battalions with each assigned a six hour time slot. 1.a.4. Battalion: A battalion is made up of all Marines who typically game during a six hour time slot. The Battalion Commander will hold the rank of Major and is responsible for all operations that take place during his battalionÆs time slot. The battalion is divided up into up to three companies. Each company is assigned a two hour time slot. 1.a.5. Company: A company is made up all Marines who typically game most often at some time within the companies two hour time slot. The Company Commander is a captain. He is responsible for all operations that take place during his companies two hour time slot. The company is made up of several platoons that share the same two hour time slot. 1.a.6. Platoon: A platoon is made up of all like minded Marines who most typically find themselves gaming during the company two hour time slot. The Platoon Commander is a lieutenant and is responsible for everything his platoon does or fails to do. He should attempt to conduct training, meetings and planned operations centralized around the company two hour time slot, although plenty of flexibility is encouraged. A platoon can be established and led by an enlisted Marine who will hold the billet of Platoon Sergeant. The platoon will be able to field at least two squads of Marines during itÆs companies time slot. 1.a.6. Squad: A squad is defined as the smallest unit led by a small team leader that can maneuver on and successfully take most objectives. The platoon organizes its Marines into squads prior to the beginning of a game. The squad may be further defined by game mechanics. 1.a.7. Fire Team: A fire team is made up of a portion of a squad assigned to carry out a particular task. In the chaos of the FPS gaming environment, a team may be made up of whoever is available at the time in your local area and may even include Marines from other squads or adjacent organizations.
1.b. Building the Corps by starting small: The above is the ideal goal for a very large organization. However currently we are sitting at about 100 applicants, 20 or 30 of which I currently consider active (Occasionally check into the forums from time to time). In order for this organization to be successful, we will need to start small and build up to the hierarchy of units outlined above. 1.b.1. The first Company: We are going to have to start creating platoons now. These platoons may differ from each other for a variety of reasons. They may be concentrating on different games, playing games on different platforms, or maybe even separated by primary language their members speak. The first Company will have to encompass all of these platoons. As we begin to grow, the platoons should start to expand and find their niche.. TBC

[187]
Once a platoon becomes large enough, it will be able to split for any number of the reasons mentioned above. Maybe a group of players in that platoon find themselves playing more and more at times that differ from the rest of the group, or maybe the platoon is simply too large and finds it difficult to employ their entire team at once during regular play time. 1.b.2. Platoon Leadership: Preferably a junior commissioned officer (Ens. or New Lt.) will be in charge of a platoon. However a platoon may be created and led by a warrant officer, or an enlisted member. If the platoon cannot field a new officer from within itÆs ranks, an officer will be assigned to the platoon when available. 2. Billets: There are several billets that I already foresee a purpose for. 2.a. Platoon Commander, Company Commander, Battalion Commander etc...: Generally, the commanding officer of any one of the units defined above is responsible for all subordinate units or individuals in his command. These positions have not changed since inception of the CMC. 2.b. Contract Officer: This is a speculative role that will be filled by either a warrant officer or commissioned officer who participates in the L&CSE Corp. A Contract officer will be assigned at all levels of command, starting at the platoon level. It is the contract officerÆs responsibility to keep his unit gainfully employed in accordance with his commanders intent. He will act as the platoon commander in the absence of a commissioned officer. Prior to release of Dust 514, a contract officer could be appointed to enroll his unit into gaming leagues or to plan operations such as matches against rival organizations. 2.c. Platoon Sergeant: Preferably the most senior enlisted member of a platoon. He is responsible for administrative tasks and training his platoon at the tactical level. In the absence of a commissioned officer or a contract officer, he will act as the platoon commander. 2.d. Commanding Officer of the CMC: This is the commissioned officer responsible for the entire organization. Eventually the officer holding this billet will achieve the rank of general. However IÆve decided recently that the rank an officer holds should be proportional to number of subordinate units at his command. Therefore, if the CMC only has a hand full of platoons qualifying the entire corps as a company, then the commanding officer will be a captain. 2.e. Commander of the L&CSE: This is the commissioned officer responsible for supporting the entire Dust 514 Division. He is responsible for the employment of all warrant officers and commissioned officers of the L&CSE, and will assign them to contract officer billets. Like the Commanding Officer of the CMC, his rank will be proportional to the number of subordinate units he can effectively support minus one. If the CMC is at BN size and commanded by a Major, the Commander of the L&CSE will be a captain. As such the highest rank achievable by this billet is Colonel when an entire division sized element is supported. The Commander of the L&CSE could reach General Status if more than one MMOFPS or FPS in a persistent environment is supported. 3. Promotions and rank structure: The rank structure and manor in which Marines are promoted vary between officer, warrant officer and enlisted personnel. 3.a. Officer: Initially an officer is commissioned based on leadership potential and the desire to command. The rank of ensign is given to those who are deemed viable candidates to fill leadership roles. Ensigns will likely be given the billet of platoon commander if the position is available. In order for a new officer to be promoted past ensign, he must complete all leadership training (as will be defined at a later time) and must be observed effectively commanding a platoon sized element (several squads) in combat... 3.a. Officer: Initially an officer is commissioned based on leadership potential and the desire to command. In order for a new officer to be promoted past ensign, he must complete all leadership training (as will be defined at a later time) and must be observed effectively commanding a platoon sized element (several squads) in combat. Once promoted to the rank of lieutenant, the officer will remain as such until he holds a billet higher in the chain of command. If he resigns or is relieved of his command he will revert back to the rank of lieutenant, showing that he is still a capable officer although not currently holding a command past the platoon level. In order for an officer to be decommissioned he must break or show the desire to break the Rules Of Engagement (ROE) that apply to all CMC members or special ROE that apply to officers. 3.b. Enlisted: Initially all applicants who have not completed the enlisting process will hold the title of MAGGOT. Once the rank of private is achieved, enlisted personnel will progress in rank based on time observed participating in CMC operations. Observed time requirements are set up to increase exponentially such that it will take many years to achieve the highest rank possible of Sergeant Major. The Commanding Officer of the CMC reserves the privilege to award observed hours based on other criteria. 3.c. Warrant Officer: All warrant officers must complete the enlisting process prior to applying to the CMC L&CSE Corporation. Initially all warrant officers are given the rank of warrant officer 1. In order to progress to chief warrant officer 2 the Marine must meet two constraints. The first is that the Marines primary character in EvE must reach a ten-million skill point threshold. The second is based on observed time participating in CMC operations similar to the rank progression of the enlisted members. Progressing to higher ranks is based on the same observed time requirements that the enlisted ranking system is based on. 3.d. Promotion system: Enlisted Marines and Warrant Officers are promoted based on time observed participating in CMC operations. Observed time is not necessarily time observed while gaming. Participating in meetings and even time spent developing products for the organization could count as observed time. Marines are not entitled to observed time points and are awarded them at the discretion of the Marines immediate supervisor, so not all actions will be observed. Marines will not complain if their time is not counted for any particular action, but are instead ensured that if they remain persistent and regularly contributing to the organization, the points will come. 3.d.1. After Action Reports: After Action Reports (AARÆs) will be submitted by a small unit leader after each significant event, or prolonged gaming session. AARÆs will be designed to gather and archive data about enemy forces, assets lost or gained, and time spent on a match or instance of combat. There is an incentive to leaders at all levels such that those who are able to submit AARÆs are guaranteed to have their time counted toward promotion. All data related to observation time is currently being managed by MasterSmith.

http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/06/09/e3-2011-dust-514s-realtime-integration-with-eve-online/3#c34260516
A couple of things stand out in this article: 1. "CCP pointed out that EVE players may be necessary for the transport of clones, tanks and other supplies to a destination planet for war" -The logi corp in EVE could play a much larger role than what we know now.
2. "In a surprising move, CCP also confirmed that DUST will be free-to-play after the initial cover charge for digital download via PSN; no ongoing subscription will be required. Even more unexpectedly, players will also be compensated for the full initial purchase price with an equivalent value of the game's microtransaction currency." - So you pay a cover to get in then get that money back in game as isk. Very cool!
3. "Part of the reason for the PS3 exclusivity deal is that Sony has also agreed to relax some of its rules regarding client updates and networking. Although many players looking forward to DUST 514 are disappointed that it won't be coming out on the Xbox 360, it's possible that Microsoft's tight networking rules may have made server-based cross-platform gameplay on the 360 completely infeasible." -Sounds like the only one to blame for it not being on xbox is Microsoft.

An old cowpoke went ridin' out one dark and windy day, Upon a ridge he rested as he went along his way When all at once a mighty herd of red eyed cows he saw Come rushin' through the ragged skies and up a cloudy draw.
Their brands were still on fire and their hooves were made of steel Their horns were black and shiny and their hot breath you could feel A bolt of fear went through him as they thundered through the sky He saw the riders coming hard... and he heard their mournful cry
Yipie i oh Yipie i ay Ghost riders in the sky.
Their face is gaunt their eyes were blurred their shirts all soaked With sweat They're ridin' hard to catch that herd but they 'aint caught 'em yet 'cause they've got to ride forever in the range up in the sky On horses snorting fire as they ride hard hear them cry
The riders leaned on by him he heard one call his name If you want to save your soul from hell a riding on our range Then cow - boy change your ways today or with us you will ride Tryin' to catch this devil herd... a - cross these endless Skies.
