Edited by: Nym Qyamara on 05/12/2004 17:42:11 We are this very moment attacking a POS and have infliced more than 20,000,000 damage - and the shield is going to end soon on the control tower. Its ofline, but when can we claim it ? Some say that its only the owner that can unanchor it ???
Please as our Fleets are getting tired - info is greatly appriciated. |

once the shield goes down it'll go into reinforced mode where it'll be invincible
the length of this mode will depend on the amounts of Strontium Clathrates that are stored in the control tower
come back when the mode ends and i think you'll be free to blow it up or cliam the structures
good luck __________________________________________

You better not leave it unattended, otherwise the owner will come back and reinforce it. -------------------------------- CCP can patch away bugs, but they can't patch away stupidity. |

1 hour .... come back and tell us what happens eh?
i wonder ... is it possible to fly back to the Control Tower during the reinforced state and dump more Strontium in it? would be handy if you know the reinforced state will end when you're away you can dump some in

dunno
but I alraady attended in a successfull cleanout of a POS too, it had already 2 medium sentries, but luckily not enough fuel for the force field :)
se we could blow up sentries and some defenders
but we had no chance with the control tower, although we used 12 BS Wanna fly with me?

Edited by: Danton Marcellus on 05/12/2004 19:33:10 Basically you just need to strontium it out till downtime or whenever the attacker sleeps and sneak in some more modules then.

Ok Shield is 100% gone and Armor is droping fast. Still no way of unanchoring it ??? what is this - do we also need to take the Armor now ? We already removed 35 mil Shield Hit Points
And have startet on the 8 mil Armor ---- The station does not apear to have entered reinforced mode at anypoint. So current status is - Shield = 0 % armor 70% and dropping. WHEN CAN WE TAKE it under our arms and run away with it - I have been fighting for 30 horus now and im gettet TIRED. CCP AAAArrrr help us. http://worldofwar.dk/tc |

this is from the Exodus feature page ... i believe it was all written before testing so not sure how it may have changed... :
Quote: When the Control Arrays shield is damaged and it reaches 25% capacity, it enters an reinforced state, where most of its resource needed for its Infrastructure Arrays is diverted to shield generation and it consumes its reserve that fuels the reinforced state.
The time it takes for a Control Arrays to go through its reinforced state depends on how much reserves the owner has primed the Array with.
When the Control Array exits the reinforced state, the Starbase is vulnerable for damage since it can not enter reinforced until you can fill the reserves again. Restocking can not be done until the shield is back to 50% capacity.
The reinforced state also dictates when the final battle for the Starbase will occur, since both attacker and defender knows the time of the Control Array exiting the reinforced state. The defender still has the advantage since he can prime the reserves so that it occurs on his prime time.
When the shield of a structure is gone, it can take damage beyond its incapacitation point or destruction point. An incapacitated structure can be taken as loot or it can be usurped to conquer the territory.
so it sounds like you need to keep hitting it until it goes into this 'incapacitated' state __________________________________________

Edited by: Barth3zzzNL on 05/12/2004 22:24:35 As far as i know:
- When incapacitated you can scoop it into your indy or something.
- POS go into Reinforced mode when at 25% shield, if now Strongtuim stuff is around it not go into reinforced mode and you can simply keep hurting ths shield.
- POS cant be used (Refining/Ship Equipment swapping/Factory usage/Fuel Resuppling) while in Reinforced mode. ---------------------------

Edited by: Nym Qyamara on 05/12/2004 22:50:45 ok Armor is now at 50 % and still no options for removal or stealing it... Still got 4.5 mil Hit points to go ----- Thanks for the help -- My eyes are read and my hands shake - and my breath smells strongly of coffee. That means that we have given a total of 35 + 4.5 mil = 39.500.000 damage or what = to 79.000 Torps if you make each torp give 500 damage :) http://worldofwar.dk/tc |

I believe that all you need to take out any POS, no matter how well passively fortified, is a fleet of persons with remote armor repairers fitted, laser turrets, decent communication, and time to kill.
Luckilly, that doesn't work too well for fleet to fleet engagements.
