Edited by: Hakera on 08/12/2004 15:30:47 Do you believe that with the introduction of lvl 4 agents in high sec space & the new ore types that there has been an exodus, but in the wrong direction? If you look on the map at peak times, 0.0 is empty bar a few blobs at chokepoints and mining parties in remote systems. Some of argued that chokepoints are alone in causing this, would you ever consider more gates being added and routes into 0.0?
Secondly it has been argued many times that high sec income vs risk is far too high, even in terms of the afk/macro miners sat in 0.9+ harvesting veld or scord 24 hours a day. Obviously with the mining rate, the volume of ore and its profit leads to comparible income to low sec without the risk. If you want to help people to low sec, you should be providing the carrot the other way and a stick (in terms of ore distro nerf) in 0.5+. As it stands income from high sec as rocketed in shiva, leading to an exodus the wrong way.

ok, how to phrase this.... hmm...
"do the devs agree with me, that on someone elses bio > standings, the NPC standings that are currently shown are not adding much (if any?) functionality or usefull information for other players... and if so, would they consider replacing it with inter - player standings? this is to reward honest folk, and punish scammers."
Does that sound ok for a question?
Cheers, san. Character "Widescreen" is a scammer; beware.
Check my bio for a list of known scammers.

I'd reword it to:
Scammers are a problem for honest folk. Have you ever thought of introducing a sort of player-rating, where others can rate a specific player? This would help in detecting who is a scammer and who is not.
My opinion on the matter is; wait for CCP to introduce Contract System (will make labslot trade scams a thing of the past). For the rating idea, look at The Sims. A player mafia is active ther,e bringing honest folk in discredit, resulting in more grief then scammers are able to inflict.

I have a few market questions, since no one has addressed them in this thread yet.
Are the procurement and visibility skills currently working correctly? Please give more in depth information on what these skills are doing/are intended to do in the game system.

Unfortunately, alts can be created and deleted at the drop of a hat, so you really won't gain much here unless they put in some kind of account "accountability". Even then, accounts can come and go just as quickly, so I don't think there is anything anyone can do about it except be wary and get a GM involved if it is a highly scammable item like labslots or characters being bought/sold for ISK, for which there is no way to ensure that you can protect yourself otherwise, as they require a level of trust that I am not willing to impart on any other player in the game besides people that I know personally out of game. ------------------- |

Not really a question, but idea: why wont make so any shots missed to be shown as really missed, i.e. not hitting ships. Currently no matter if you shot enemy or missed him all shot en up on his hull and all enemy shots end up on your hull. That way you won't need to pay attention to log messages and that will improve game visually alot.

Edited by: marioman on 09/12/2004 15:58:45 Heres the question i want to ask for it:
Are Hardwire implants being removed from the game and What was the reason behind eliminating 2 ships 2nd cruiser bonus in agent missions (namely the thorax and demios)?

Alright, I got a good one.
With the introduction of criminal flagging for stolen goods, will a player be criminally flagged for taking ore from a regular jettisoned can or will the fact that it is a jettison can negate the criminal flagging, or is it that ore just cannot be flagged, as it is just a bunch of rocks? -------------------------------- CCP can patch away bugs, but they can't patch away stupidity. |

Right on the deadline, but here goes anyway:
Right now scan probes take a very long time to return results, and this is especially problematic for 3AU probes which last only 10 minutes, but take 5 to scan. Taking the deployment time into account, they're only good for 1 scan. When combined with the even worse speed of the longer range probes, it's almost impossible to use probes to find anything but derelict ships, and even then the time taken can be excessive. Is it possible for this time to be reduced, and are you keeping an eye on how players are making use of this somewhat quirky system? |
