Originally by: Wyyr How do you tell the Mac client to connect to the Singularity server? I edited my Info.plist file (the only place I have been able to find eve.exe listed) but if I add /server:singularity the app no longer opens. I used the full Mac installer for the current SiSi build/release build.
Figured it out. For all Mac people out there you can follow the steps here to get on SiSi: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Mac_Bug_Reporting
Basically you do this:
Edit the /Users//Library/Preferences/SiSi Preferences/config file (the folder you are looking for in the Preferences folder will be named after the name you specified above followed by preferences) Add the following lines to the end of the file:
[AppDefaults\\EVE.exe\\transgaming] "cmdlineadd" = "/server:87.237.38.50" (note space either side of '=' sign)

Thanks for the new patches, however is it on purpose that all test colonies has been deleted? Just wondering.. |

Yes, this is because all the RC builds exist under the cdn1.eveonline.com/test url rather than the root that the autopatcher wishes to redirect you to.

At the moment I have installed build 150564 (Windows) for Singularity (from Tuesday, I think). However I cannot find an upgrade patch 150564 -> 151614 (current version). There only seems to be a patch for 151334 -> 151614.
What can I do? Do I need to setup my test installation from scratch (new copy from my TQ installation and then upgrading again from TQ-Version -> 151614)?

Edited by: Demonrok Angel on 13/05/2010 15:25:27 Edited by: Demonrok Angel on 13/05/2010 15:24:09 I think I understand that the text "eve.exe /server:singularity" is to be added to some file before the game will go to Singularity. As programming is always complicated... why do the devs here not post a file which will enable the test client for singularity and tell us which file to switch it for? The .exe in my evetest folder is only 0.5MB could you not give us one to switch or give us screenies of exactly where the text should go?
This is what I believe we are supposed to do.

You're supposed to edit the shortcut to the executable, not add it to a file.
For example, my shortcut's target says: ' "C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE Test\eve.exe" /server:singularity ' ---

TQ -> sinq patch not working for me either. Says: Versions do not match. Found version 127381 when expecting 120813. However, you might want to consider a few things, first of all; I now have one of those annoying sigs. second; you should probably move on to some more interesting things than reading this sig.

None of the patches seem to be working for me.
The 151334 -> 151614 either launched from client or downloaded via browser don't work at all, when I did patch it, the client was trying to connect to TQ, well it didn't work is the short story, and it keeps trying to fix its self back to the TQ build.
Also TQ -> 151614 had the same problem still trying to connect to TQ.
Any ideas?

Because the build is a release candidate, ie: a full build that is a candidate for release. This means everything in it is built to be run on TQ at some point.
It's a release candidate being tested on Sisi not a test build being run on Sisi

See above; it's a build for TQ being tested on Sisi. Because it's intended for use on TQ, it will want to connect to TQ.

Yes, it's a release candidate. But what's the reason you cannot provide a "make this a Singularity client"-patch to be applied after the Tyrannis patch?
You keep saying it's sooooo easy to connect to Sisi, yet it's too complicated to provide a little tool/patch that does it automatically? Has it occurred to you that some people do not feel comfortable with copying files, creating shortcuts and modifying command line parameters?
A good way to increase the likelihood of getting a lot of people to join organized tests on Sisi is to increase the number of people who can access Sisi easily. Repeating the instructions again and again won't make the actual process any easier...
