Last I checked eve is a pvp game.
You should join a wow PVP server and complain about how people can attack you etc.
Same same but different. --

Didn't eve win a bunch of awards for being best pvp game and aren't a number of the original devs often going on about how much fun pvp is?
It's almost like they started a pvp mmo.
If ship vs ship pvp (as aposed to trade, manufacture, invention, etc) were removed. The entire market would tank, a decent fleet battle that usually happends once a day will result in something in teh hundreads of ships destroyed. Adding the countless small scale roams that pop handfull of ships here and there, remove that and that'll have a large impact on the demand on the market that'll effect mod prices\mat prices and it'll all go down the ****ter.
Then people will complain that they can't make decent isk, T2 production would go more ******ed than it is now and the game would become an utter snooze fest.
Each to their own though I guess, personally I like pvp and complexity. I joined eve for the latter and have come to really enjoy the former.
Highsec is an incredibly dull place and getting to 0.0 is so easy it's painful, especially with the changes to sov mechanics, 0.0 is also way safer than empire, you've just got to pick the right people to play with.
OMG MMO!!!! --

You really can't escape the pvp part of eve no matter where you hide --

we are talking about PVE challenge
The main problem with pve is that it's just learning a patern, no matter how complicated, that's all you're doing and once you know the patern, it stops being interesting\fun.
Adding more missions wouldn't solve this, they'd just present new paterns for you to learn and then get board of whilst at the same time increasing your skills so they become easier.
If missions were made harder to make them more interesting I'll go out on a limb and guess that people would either cry that "They're too hard to solo" or "Now I know them they're boring" and a few might work together and do them
Adding new missions is also limited on what they could add, It'd be nice to see a "defend this structure\ship\fleet" style missions. "invent\aquisition this" missions But beyond collecting\killing x items missions... what do you want?
If you want, Offensive Defensive Logistics Teratory disputes Politics Drama etc
then you want pvp
PVE, in my mind, bar being a way of injecting isk into the game, is a lose lose situation. --

Originally by: Ibn Taymiyyah I personally have 2 RL friends that joined EVE for the player driven market. They are glorified accountants and love to play market games. Should I judge? Should they come out to play (PVP)? Are they less just because their toons train social and trade skills instead of PVP ownage skills? They have 3 toons per account, each almost maximized on trade skills.
Um... trading is pvp, just as much as shooting at ships is pvp --

World or warcraft is not a successful mmo, it's a series of psycological traps and tricks that revolve around addiction rather than entertainment or fun.
If the measure of "success" is measured in capital gained then ****** is also a success but doesn't make it fun.
Eve is fun and in my mind a bigger success --
