Just started messing to PI on test server.
Given what little time it takes to train to be able to place a Limited command center is it really even worth it to place a basic one giving how little cpu they have?
Also can you place more than 1 command center on a planet?

Hmm so theres no way to upgrade your Basic CC to a Limited CC once you have the skills and one in your cargohold? You pretty much lose everything you have done and have to make the whole damn thing over again?
Also I saw the thing in the journal but didnt really look at it. But thats kinda funny it just shoots your junk up into some random spot in space lol?

They all have the identical stats, and there doesn't seem to be any skill requirement between the different types.
I would imagine that the different command centers exists due to conditions on the planet -- which will become apparent once Dust comes out. Maybe, or maybe not different type command centers will cost more than other types as more "stuff" has to go into making the command center (more of a RP aspect really).
As far as the skills, the higher tier command centers do require to train the PI skillbooks at a higher level.
Anyone know if Remote Sensing skillbook is required to put a command center on a planet or is it just for "remote viewing"?
Just because theres only 4 different models doesnt mean theres only gunna be 4 different maps in dust. Im sure there will be a map for each type of planet and hopefully the higher your command center is in eve the bigger and more complexe the dust map for it will be. I could see like a Basic command center being very small and easy to assault. And then the Elite ones being huge with tons of cover for defenders to hide behind and towers for them to snipe from.
If Dust turns out to be cod6 with an eve theme it would prob be the most successful console shooter ever made.

Just did a bit of looking around i messed with 2 0.8 planets then went to 0.5 to see what the planets were like. I started to see greens spots on that scan mode! So i guess you prob have to goto 0.0 to start seeing red spots on planets? And maybe just maybe in the deepest part of 0.0 there is a planet with all 5 of its bars maxed out and the whole planet is red!
I though the gas planets were cool thou how they have everything concentrated in belts around the planet instead of just random places. Also on the terrestrial planets can you build your command center on water?

I thought about it, if they were all the same model then dust would only need 7 maps and only the outside terrian would be different. I doubt you will have to fight your way to the CC, since some are floating and some are underwater. Although maybe the attackers start by landing at the spaceport then fight their way thru tubes(Link) to the command center.
