Concerning Capsuleers and Sansha's Nation
The Star Fraction Owner Captains' Council has monitored with concern the recent events involving Sansha's Nation across the New Eden cluster. The mass 'harvesting' of millions of individuals by Nation forces, together with the disturbing evidence of powerful technologies at the disposal of these forces, as reflected in the apparent precision manipulation of wormholes and rapid training and integration of new capsuleers, are evidently the most immediate issues of concern.
Yet the deeply ambiguous role of CONCORD in these events, together with the actions of some empire navies, is also of considerable concern. Some have tried to suggest CONCORD is merely fulfilling its charter and no more. This does violence to the history of CONCORD's reaction to previous serious threats to the security of the core of the cluster. There is more to the haphazard and lackadaisical response of CONCORD than Nation infiltration in our judgement.
Star Fraction Intelligence has been analysing signals traffic across the spectrum of capsuleer, empire and factional communications channels, together with signals captures from Nation forces. Despite the determination of some to deny information to us on tawdry and petty grounds, others have shared intelligence and relevant material with us. Initial analysis indicates a subtle but definite attempts to introduce particular memetic contagions into the discourse concerning the fight against the Nation threat. These memetic strains originate from multiple sources and some appear in conflict with one another. The Star Fraction considers both CONCORD and Sansha's Nation to be candidate beneficiaries of certain of these memetic strains. Others may be the result of as yet unidentified third-parties seeking to use events for their own purposes.
The preliminary view of the Star Fraction is that capsuleers must be very wary of siren calls to view the Sansha's Nation incursions as the sole issue to be addressed above all others, no matter the cost. Attempts to set up a rigid accord or organisational platform through which all counter-Nation activities are co-ordinated to the exclusion of other efforts should be resisted. It is clear that statists of every feather and hue are flocking together. Radicals and libertarians are being enticed into deals with the devil and some are showing signs of falling for it.
Let the statist centralisers and platformists have their front against the Nation. If their efforts are honest, well and good. Alas, some efforts may not be so honest and long-respected neutralities trampled on under the cover of the present emergency. Emergency it may be but there is no reason to let it overrule all considerations or shackle individual conscience.
Important questions must not be overlooked and freedom fighters must ask themselves if certain parties can be trusted in the counter-Nation effort. The disgraceful actions of the Amarr Empire's Imperial Navy, and the approval for those actions in some quarters, should not be ignored for the sake of fighting a common foe, however dastardly that foe may be.
We do not preach against co-operation. To the contrary. But we do say that independence of action should not be abandoned and that principles should not be torn up in a rush to beat the drums against technological tyranny in company with those who undoubtedly favour more traditional forms of tyranny.
Given our belief that independent action is essential, the Star Fraction now gives formal 24-hour notice of hostile standings and sanctioned warfare against the following capsuleer organisations:
- Naqam [NQM]
- True Slave Foundation [TS-F]
Those who actively support tyranny, of any kind, must and will be opposed.

Our standings and war declarations in this matter concern organisations that as a whole are actively supporting the purposes of Sansha's Nation.
The issue of given individuals who are members of independent corporations or alliances that do not as a whole actively support the purposes of Sansha's Nation do not concern us. That is properly an internal matter for the corporation or alliance in question.
If and when particular independent corporations or alliances actually take a policy position we will consider the issues that arise.

Some capsuleers can fund and provide support on a individual level equal to that of a corperation or alliance, would'nt that put them in a position to be equally targeted as a enemy? Would it not be logical to just warn what ever neutral or independant corp or alliance that harbors them that you will engage in hostile action towards their member specifically for that stance that your organisation stands against?

Revan's loyalties lie with a organisation that is known to have ties and positive standings with the Sansha, and on several occasions openly admited to it. You call us Slaver supporters hah!
Either you are being played by the Sansha puppet master or trying to play the good people of New Eden. Probably both as of information as of late.

The Sansha Nation represent the biggest threat to personal sovereignty in the cluster. The Star Fraction, as ever, will stand opposed to such threats. We, so far have done our best to accommodate and assist others in the battle against this threat as a symbol of how serious we take these incursions and how important the destruction of our mutual enemy is. We have provided the entire cluster with as much intel as we can provide and have resisted the urge to take vengeance for past wrongs on those who fight to destroy the Sansha. Still we are met by the suspicion of some who would dismiss our assistance because of their own selfish demands. We are told that because of our executor's personal relationship we are not to be trusted.
No more will we tolerate this.
We will destroy the Sansha as we can. We will find our own path against the egotistical demands of those who see their petty grievances are more important that this threat. With or without a consensus we fight for we are not them. We do not need to be one. We are the Freecaptains of the Star Fraction and we will fight to the bitter end to preserve our individual sovereignty no matter the cost to us.
The Nation will fall.

Is it not the goal of the Star Fraction to disrupt and bring down this same sovereignty that is under attack? Seems like someone is doing what you cant, stealing your thunder maybe, you trying to prevent that from happening? If this was happening in Providence before the AAA war, or even durning, or prehaps just the Amarr Empire was under this attack and no other, where would SF truly stand?

Of course your intel will be questioned, and your natural enemies suspicious of you. You bed with some of the most notorious organisations in New Eden, and most, if not all them, enemies of your enemies also. There is zero reason to trust you people.

Cosmo, it's nothing personal. You seems like you got a good Amarrian head on your shoulders. Think like one for a moment will ya?
Even if people wanted to trust you guys, we CAN'T. You have done nothing in the past year to indicate that you want to do anything that isn't in your own self-interest and now that you see something that scares you, you want to join our bandwagon?
You trust Jade. Fine. We can't gamble the lives of our citizens on Jade. The girl can't keep her legs shut while around Revan, how are we supposed to believe she'll keep her mouth shut? She's a security risk and you know it.
You sewed the seeds of mistrust when your pilots laughed at Republic pilots and used them for cannon-fodder; when you used Minmatar slaves as huiman shields in Kamela and when you insta-popped Johnny boy two weeks ago.
Any government official who even thought of trusting you would be taken out and shot. And the guys with the bullets would be right.
Lose the blood cultist fan club and start a policy of truth and maybe, juist maybe WE'LL save YOu from the big, bad Sansha.
Until then, reap the whirlwind Cosmo.

No love lost between us and the Fraction, but these things didn't happen. I was a part of the Star Fraction for a few months of their campaign against the 24IC - laughing at the TLF and its member corporations was not a part of our daily routine. We put ourselves at risk for their benefit more often than we asked them to come and assist; more often than not when the TLF assisted the Star Fraction it was because TLF scouts recognized a situation brewing and TLF FCs asked how they could help. In that, the Fraction is honest.
The slaves that were at that one Space and Freedom battle were there incidentally and, to my knowledge, the CVA and their lapdogs were entirely unaware of their presence until their successful evacutation was announced.

Your words ring true, up to a point. Nation is a threat to all, but the threat is not so grave that we should forget our primary goals and allegiances.
Personally, I will continue to defend the Empire. Nation is just one more aggressor on the list, they are no different from the Matari beast. Both will be extinguished in time. I will render no assistance to the Gallente or their Matari lapdogs in their defence against Nation incursions. Any Gallente or Matari loyalist capsuleer who sets foot in empire space even under the pretense of helping is an enemy interloper who must be driven off.

Star Fraction always held an organization responsible for all the actions of its members, and thus held any individual in an organization responsible for all the actions of other individuals in an organization.
Concerning your reference to 'internal matters', if I remember the Star Fraction line, if an organization did not remove said individuals, Star Fraction considered the organization to actively supporting the actions of said individuals and thus responsible as a whole.

I fear on a number of points we have been misunderstood by various people. This may well be because our points were made less clearly than they could have been. It is as well to assume this on the first occasion of misunderstanding, so I will make the basic points again.
First, let us deal with much the least important issue: the constant confusion of the personal with the political, made all the worse with a confusion of personal views with political positions and activity.
The Star Fraction does not form its views about people, or the organisations they belong to, on the basis of the personal relationships of individuals with other individuals. That kind of thing can be left to religious and social authoritarians. Indeed, if you see someone trying to draw conclusions as to the political and ethical positions of an individual, or their comrades, on the basis of who that individual happens to love then you can be sure that you are seeing an authoritarian mindset at work.
It is no mystery to us that the Amarr priesthood, their paramilitary lackies and race traitor lickspittles indulge in this type of odious denial of an essential personal freedom: the freedom to love. After all, their's is a creed of hatred, self-loathing in fact, which must needs make everyone else an object of hate and self-loathing in order to justify their place in their perverted world-view.
It is rather sad when we see others, who really should know better, indulging in the logic of prudish and freedom-hating political mud-slinging.
Second, the policy of the Star Fraction when it comes to designating hostiles is quite clear. We designate organisations hostile for the actions of that organisation, not for the personal views of individuals in those organisations. Pilots in space take actions in the name of their organisation and those the organisation must account for, or if the actions are truly those of an individual renegade, repudiate. Individuals are, however, entitled to their personal views and to conduct the necessary debates. We may comment on such views, we may even regard the presence of such views among an organisation's membership as indicative of the extent to which it can be regarded reliable, but we do not view it in itself as a reason to designate an organisation hostile.
Hostile action against us or active support for political foes are what we look for in organisations that may be candidates for determining hostility. But again, there is another aspect that is commonly distorted. Our foes seem to think we have to automatically apply some rote formula to everyone and everything to determine its hostility and must set hostile all those that qualify on this formula. That is simply not so. We retain discretion in these matters. An entity may take actions that justify setting it hostile but it may be that it is better not to set it hostile and to take other steps. Violence is not always the answer. Some people can be reasoned with and, if they can be reasoned with, why should we use force just because our enemies wish it?
Of course, our foes don't like this because it spoils the impression they like to give that we are 'obsessed with violence'.
Leaving aside those more general issues, which really are not the topic of this thread, and have been discussed elsewhere many times, I will now turn to the issues that concern capsuleer society at large most immediately. The issues of the day and those that touch on or are concerned with the topic herein.
One of these issues concerns the limits of co-operation and, in an ironic way, it is not actually that disturbing to me that certain foes do not wish to co-operate with the Star Fraction even in this matter. I described their stated reasons as tawdry and so they are, because it is the disreputable confusion of personal and political discussed above that they rely on. I leave that to one side, however, and will consider it merely under the heading 'non-co-operation with enemies'. >

> Non-co-operation with enemies seems to be the preference of those committed to authoritarian statism and imperialist domination. Various of the militia forces have been seen shooting at their foes while those foes were in the midst of counter-Nation struggles. We have seen the Imperial Navy order its militia allies to attack Minmatar fighters who, only moments before, had been fighting against Nation forces in defence of a planet within the purview of the Amarr Empire. So it isn't a surprise to see non-co-operation with enemies preached by those who are imperialist or nationalist paramilitaries of one kind or another.
What is more surprising is that some apparently freedom-minded, liberatarian or radical pilots are willing to submit to some kind of regulated co-operation with the very forces that would tyrannize them if they could. The very forces, indeed, who are quite willing to stab their erstwhile counter-Nation comrades in the back if so ordered by their masters.
Let us make no bones about it. The Amarr Empire and its paramilitaries cannot be trusted in this affair. They have shown their colours quite clearly and people should not be distracted by calls of 'Emergency!' After all, the Amarr Empire is only honest in this struggle against the Sansha's Nation threat where it concerns the defence of Amarr planets and domains. When those are threatened, to be sure the Amarr Empire is alarmed and considers it a life and death struggle, as well they might.
However, all who know the Empire for true know that their attitude to the Nation incursions into, for example, the Minmatar Republic is more in the nature of a property dispute with the Nation than a true concern to defeat those who would kidnap and torment fellow human beings. The Amarr Empire views the abducted of the Republic as its property and sees the Nation as doing no more, really, than stealing their property. Who really doubts that the Empire, if it could, would not be there in the Nation's place abducting Minmatar by the thousands?
Moreover, at bottom the Amarr Empire has the same attitude when it comes to the Caldari State and the Gallente Federation. They can't help it. They're in thrall to a perverse and inhuman religion just as much as the True Slaves are in thrall to an inhuman and perverse science. The Amarr Empire wants to save you, Caldari and Gallente, but it only wants to save you from the Sansha's Nation processing halls so that in the future it may press you into its slave barques and carry you off.
Indeed, how different, really, is enslavement by the Amarr to enslavement by Sansha's Nation? The Amarr Empire uses implants, drugs, micro-controllers, glaive collars, violence of every kind to get and maintain its slaves. The Nation uses various technologies and violence to get its legions. The ideology underpinning these twin slave regimes may differ, the details of the enslavement and purposes to which the slaves are put may differ, but the essential, core, inescapable truth of slavery remains the same with each: an individual is rendered a non-individual, made an object, murdered. Slowly murdered, to be sure, but in the end how much worse than simple murder that is.
We can trust true Minmatar in this matter of the struggle against the Nation because they know what slavery really is. We can trust some Caldari loyalists because they as a people have a horror of slavery, and freedom, even while repressed by their dictator, is an aspiration among them. We can even trust some Gallente nationalists û who talk about freedom a lot but who rarely do anything but inspect, direct, number, regulate, preach at, control, check, censure and tax anyone in sight û because their horror of slavery is essentially an instinctive function of their own selfishness. Amarr loyalists? No.
An imperialist and statist attempt to control events is underway. While some are fooled, others have seen through it. Let freedom be your torch and you will also.
