This time the 8th Alliance Championships (AT8) The AT8 website is now live, and you can start making your bets!!! So - What excactly do we offer? We offer the standard "bet on the team you think will win overall", but also a range of other bet types We even offer "late entry" bets, which is bets made after the tournament has started! Who will be ranked in the top 32 after round 1 (early entry). Who will be ranked in the top 32 after round 2 (early entry). Who will make it to the semifinals (early entry). Who will make it to the semifinals (late entry). Who will win the tournament (early entry). Who will win the tournament (late entry). Bets have to be made before round 1 starts (2010.06.05 15:00) Bets have to be made before the finals round (brackets) starts (2010.06.19 15:00) On the site you'll among other things find the "Bet Calculator", making it a bit easier to determine excactly what to put in the infobox when you transfer your ISK to "BIG Games". Make sure to use it, if at all in doubt about what to enter in the infobox. Updating of bets is done automatically via the EVE API, so the text entered needs to be spot on for the program to recognize it. Any mistake and your bet will be treated as a BIG Lottery entry! (and any amounts above the max for the BIG Lottery will be treated as a donation - Thank you very much!) On the site you will also be able to see the bets already made! Apart from the betting we naturally also supply the full schedule for the tournament (Currently the times are a guess, as the official list hasnt been posted yet) Lots of info there - And all in one place! Take a look at, say, [BIG Betting] AT6 and you can actually see the individual bet type payouts. (AT7 had no early/late betting)

I have no reason to think this was the first time someone threw a match. And I didnÆt say betting would die. People will still bet just like people still use eveÆs bounty system. Will people continue to bet as often even though itÆs very obvious the betting system can be openly rigged? Lets think about it. Would betting on basketball take a hit if a team took the court and scored baskets against itself because they had all bet against themselves? Assume further that all relevant organizations acknowledged this conduct was fine. (and really IÆm not saying itÆs not fine ûfor eve- IÆm just stating some implications that I think will follow) There would still be people betting of course 1) those who thought they had the inside scoop on how a game was rigged. And then there are 2) those who simply like to gamble û for gambling sake. (but then why give 10% juice? Play craps and get better odds) But the group who liked to gamble on basketball because they followed the sport and thought they could predict which team will do better based on what they learned (thus overcome the 10%).... Well I think that group is going to be less likely to bet. Would you not agree? Betting on this tournament is sort of like betting on pro wrestling. You can go ahead and bet but donÆt do it because you think one is really better at wrestling.

Does that sound correct?

Predicting who will reach the semi's (Bet type 4) - is a 1 to 8 guess now (4 out of 32) And if you limit that to just those that won both of their qualifier games it's an amazing 4 in 14, which is almost 1 in 4. It's almost criminal not putting down a million or two on each of those 14 teams imo. BIG Lottery

There are not bets for individual matches other than the finals. Radioactive Bear	Posted - 2010.06.15 10:53:00 - [50] hy. i've got a problem with my bettings. before the at8 begun, i placed 3 bets: 20 mil on Legiunea Romana to be on the first 32 after round one, 10 mil on Legiunea Romana to be on the first 32 after round 2, and 2 mil on Noir to be on the first 32 after round one. as far as today i can't see my bets, but i did see the total amount of isk bet on those teams go up in a very short time after my bets. now i've got two questions: are my bets valid? and if they are (i belive that i have won at least one bet) how/when can i get my prize? or i'm just missing something and i didn't win anything after all?
