the correct HTTPS url is https://gate.eveonline.com.
http://www.evegate.com and http://evegate.com are redirects to the https site above. If you have https in the url and not the above url exactly, you may see a certificate error (the certificate is valid for gate.eveonline.com).

Corp chatter can take some time to populate when you first click it, but if you come back after a minute or two, it will be there. -- |

In EVE Gate, portraits are created on an as-needed basis.
If your character portrait or alt portrait is missing, it is in a (fairly large) queue of images to be rendered right now, they should be showing up correctly in the next few hours. -- |

Edited by: CCP Rhayger on 26/05/2010 22:20:15 Character images that are not immediately available should begin appearing in a little while.
The images get queued for rendering the very first time they get requested. The new image service then works its way through the pending requests and the images get cached for future use, once that's done access to them is VERY fast. This is a complete rewrite of the old image service and is a huge improvement.
We pre-rendered a lot of the images in advance of deployment so some of the images are already there, the rest will be available as soon as they have been processed. With EVE Gate just going live, the initial queue will build up quickly and there will be a more sizable delay than usual in working through them but they will get completed in the order requested and as quickly as possible.
EDIT: doh! CCP Mindstar beat me to it

Same for me.
Is the unknown character you are seeing the default evegate portrait (as in this), or an actual unknown character?
If it is the former, then your character portrait will be rendered when it comes to the front of the rendering queue. The guy you are seeing is just a placeholder. -- |

Originally by: Simeon Tor I can't seem to get corp chatter to work, what am I missing?
Is it timing out or just empty? If its empty then people in your corp either aren't posting broadcasts or have adjusted their privacy settings to not show broadcasts to corp members (which is the default).

edit: worked it out. You have to put corp; in the To box. But i think when you hit Compose in the corporation section of evemail. It should automatically create a corp email.
It does if you visit the corp profile and click Send Message from there :) But this is a nice feature suggestion.

Originally by: Mr LaForge How does one restrict people from viewing corp members so no one outside the corp can see?
That's how it works and you don't have to set anything. No one from outside a corporation can see the members list.

How do I say something in corp chatter?
Just post a broadcast and make sure you have your privacy settings set to allow your corp mates to view your broadcasts (the defaults are set like that).
Additionally, your corp CEO and people with the Communication Officer role can post actual corp broadcasts via the corp profile page.

We found an issue that occurred during our image pre-rendering phase that caused our portrait generating process to get a bit confused and sometimes mix up characters and images. The cause of the issue has been fixed now in the renderer, but we have a backlog of images to re-do now that have had this issue.
Long story short - if you are seeing the wrong image for your character, just sit tight and it will be corrected when it gets re-generated. (soon tm).

EVE Gate is currently undergoing scheduled maintenance and is temporarily unable to service your request. Please try again later.
Any idea when this new *core* feature will be ready?
EVE Gate follows the same downtimes as the EVE Server, and there was an announced server downtime between 01:30 and 02:00 UTC.

Thats the same message you get in client while the cluster is in VIP mode.
Basically, if you cant login to EVE you can't use EVE Gate.

Originally by: 5NAKE plisken Ok, question about corp chatter. I was always under the impression that evegate corp chatter and tq corp chat would be "melded" together, so say for example, im at work(but logged into evegate) but can talk to people who are logged onto the game through normal corp chat. Am i missing something ?
Those are two different things. "Corp chatter" is broadcasts, or the "Status update" messages. Having ingame realtime chat on the web is an entirely different feature that has not been implemented.

Originally by: Lionel Redstar I have a small problem, maybe a bug but just want to be sure if to bugreport or not. On the Home page I see "1 New Calendar Events". I click it and I get to the Calendar page. I see I have 1 event, a corp event. Click on it and it opens but no button to accept/reject it, only save/delete/cancel (yes, I'm a director so I can edit corp events). So the "1 New Calendar Events" stay on the Home page and it's kind of annoying because everytime I have the feeling that I really have a new event except that one I already seen.
You have found a bug, it's pretty high on our list of things to fix. Basically the UI for editing (because you have the appropriate role) overrides the normal UI you would get if you weren't allowed to edit the event. In the meantime you can respond to the event in the client calendar, this will also make it not appear on your 'new events' list. ------------------ Tester, Scrum Master Quality Assurance

Originally by: Daool Um, this may have been answered already but to be honest I couldn't understand it
Eve-gate Corp Chat, does this interface directly into in Eve Corp Chat?
If so, adding Alliance Chat as an option would be great , along with being able to add/select channels.
The EVE Gate "Corporation Chatter" is an aggregated feed of broadcasts from your corp mates, but you only see broadcasts from those that haven't changed their default privacy settings which show broadcasts to corp mates.
So in short: * "Contacts Chatter" = broadcasts from people on your contact list. * "Corporation Chatter" = broadcasts from people in your corporation.
Both are subject to the same privacy checks.
