Not sorry that the next xPac was pushed back 2 months. Maybe CCP is starting to hear?
We shall see if the next release is "ready" or excellent.

If CCP manages to ignore this 94 page thread with nearly every poster giving his/her support, well... should say enough about CCP :)
I trust them they won't let us down though. OP definately got my support. A game doesn't need a load of features to be good. What it does need, is -you guessed it-: excellence. ------------------------------

No child is/was a horribly horrible horrible horrible program that brings down the overall level of education to abysmal standards..... Why would you ever reference it to a thread trying to get CCP to no leave features to rust.

have I signed it before?
I'd like to see an expansion dedicated to bugfixing/balancing the game.

+1
I like PI and 'shiny new features' but this is a great point to this: many existing features in the game need fixing, be they basic outdated graphic problems (like missiles falling out of the middle of ships?) or balancing trouble (can we collectively say hybrids, BO, Ewar...hmm, this post could get too long).
I'd love to see an expansion dedicated to improving existing features: no new ships or other ways to play EVE, just fixes on new and old problems - the dead horse (POS), missile graphics, cyno effect, Black Ops, Hybrids, PI interface, ewar balances...etc. Hell, call it "EVE: Revival" or something. The learning skill shift was an excellent idea of 'working with what you have'. Why not apply this ideology to other aspects of EVE?
Many of these problems have 10's if not HUNDREDS of forum pages of player input and ideas to fixing them. As a subscriber, I don't just pay for a neat space-game (because others are free) but for an EXCELLENT space-game that gets better and better, regularly fixing its problems so that it stays excellent.
The mark of an excellent product is not its ability to stay modern, but its ability to adhere to modern standards of quality.
EVE has been an excellent game, why not keep it that way?

I would just like to point out, in case CCP is actually reading this;
I would pay for an expansion that fixed existing game content!
So there it is CCP, you can bill me for $50-$100, if you fix the "hot list" in the next few years. And I am sure I'm not the only one...

I'd pay to have FW plex spawning fixed so that the rest of militia can experience how awesome after dt plex fights are.
Something that adds so much depth to the game, a major expansion, hyped from the roof-tops, and broken for 2 years now.

Me too.
When I first started this game a few months ago, I was nearly overwhelmed by all the loads and loads of content that made sense and was balanced and stuff. For a time it seems, CCP did nothing but churn out excellence. It came slowly but surely, and I have no doubt I would have stuck with EVE way back then had I started playing early on.
But more and more lately, CCP is running EVE like the other games out there. It might make a few extra people try it out, but that's not what will make them stay. What separates EVE from most games is already hard-written into it, and most people will never like it. But those of us who are here, who plan to stay here, this is exactly what we want. Excellence. Pure, smart, and balanced. And we're willing to pay for it, or to wait for it.

I agree that there is a problem here. Nearly 100 pages of thumbs point in this direction.
I don't get the big deal about putting a big bunch of new code into a so called expansion on a specific date, all at once. Couldn't there be a more dynamic approach? When a team is ready to go live with a project can't they just put up a patch to include the new content... when it's ready? The bigger changes could still be marketed as the shiney, new expansion. The smaller changes could be patched as needed. I would rather download a content patch than a repair patch.
This way projects don't have to add their code to the heap until they're ready. Or is this a problem in that programmers, like artists, are never finished with their work? Maybe they could put up a page that shows the approximate readiness of each project in % or man-hours or something to keep us anxiously waiting subscribers from popping an implant from frustration and maybe keep the employees on track.
I'm sure it's difficult to get such a creative bunch to work on mundane tasks or re-work old code when they have so many new ideas they prefer to work on. This is what good management is about though, isn't it?
I could also see a use for questionairs to get a better understanding of what pilots use/don't use/would like to use more but don't because it's broke or not what they were expecting. Possibly put in a pop-up on log-in that asks a pertinent question regarding a feature in question as well as a link to a full page of probing questions. Generally try to discover where the frustration factors are for users to be used to retain current users. I have quit Eve 2 or 3 times out of frustration. Eve has a very powerful base of loyal fans that I doubt Dust will ever have. I've seen many businessed fail for underestimating this loyalty factor. CSM has become a good step in the right direction in this regard.
I know you, CCP, have a direction you wish to go. Keep up the good work. I only ask that you strive to find a good balance between fresh content and where WE've come from.
Whew! I feel better, now... back to lurking about.
