I'll say it's lit oddly... Since the patch I have seen the sun glowing through the middle of planets and odd red-laser strobing effects during missions.

I like the illumination the way it is... the only problem I have with EVE graphics (other than the fuglyness of the Moa) is the fact that EVERY system seems to be surrounded by a donut shaped technicolor nebula.

New Eden is a very dense cluster with lots of interweaving nebulae. Because the stars are all so close, the nebulae are illuminated and make the space very bright. You can't really compare it to our solar system as we are pretty far out in the sticks as far as our galaxy is concerned. I think it would be nice if they added more backgrounds with less clouds and darker space, more varied. Maybe make nullsec generally dark and highsec generally bright, with a few exceptions so people are sure to see 'em even if they don't venture into the lawless sections. ==================== ~/~ Sultan of Buruni |

All of you have been very informative. I'm glad I sparked some discussion.
I'll try to modify those gamma/brightness/contrast settings and see what happens.
And regarding the infinite projectile range - if EVE is fluidic space, then if you take into account the sheer speed of the projectiles and the rather unstable elements inside the shells (though I have no idea how stable the actual shells are in their final form), maybe, just maybe, they would succumb to a number of forces after a certain time in flight.
The reflection of the ever-present nebulas seems to be quite plausible, as far as the bright space goes.
Thanks!
