First of all, you need to fit guns that can QUICKLY swat intys out of the sky.
On some of the deadspace mission you are up against 15 or so interceptors that web/scramble.
Other than that, pretty much any weapon setup works.
For tanking, a standard armor tank (3 or 4 hardeners 2x of each of the damage types the rats do) and cap regen items wherever you can fit them.

Edited by: YuuKnow on 09/12/2004 22:19:38 solo level 4 missions in a typhoon?
The best setup would probably be: High: Insurance Med: Backup gear in your hanger for your new ship Low: Extra isk to reinsure the next ship you buy.
Drone space: Vaseline

This is probably not the best setup, but it seems to be working OK for me:
High slots: 4*siege launchers. Use torps on the BS's, cruise on everything else. 2*800mm cannons. Useful for helping out your drones or popping unwanted cargo cans, but using them on the same target as your launchers is probably just a waste of ammo. 1*Large smartbomb. Useful for killing inty's and rogue drones. Just make sure you don't blow up your own missiles (or drones) 1*nothing
Med slots: 2*LiF booster. This will give you around 400m/s top speed, which lets you outrun some of the cruisers and helps you get out of range of those pesky sentries in the deadspace missions. 2*Cap recharger. Use recharger II's if possible.
Low slots: 1*Large armor rep. A named one will obviously be better than a standard. 1*Med T2 armor rep. On some missions this is all that's needed to soak up the damage you'll be taking. 4*active hardeners. Change them to suit the damage types the enemy is doing. 1*cap power relay
You won't be able to tank forever with this setup, but the tank is good enough to survive most missions I've done. If you want a better tank, just swap the AB's for cap rechargers and spend all day going to and from missions instead of killing stuff
Beware the missions with missile spam, though. In particular the Guristas spies and Damsel in Distress. You might have to beef up the tank (swap AB's for cap rechargers, med rep for large rep) for these. You probably won't be able to tank forever with that setup either, but you should be able to stay in battle long enough to kill a good number of the enemy ships (preferably the ones which have you warp scrambled )
You'll also need to buy a lot of cruise missiles for this thing, and a well stocked drone bay will be a big help on the tougher targets (Rogue drone dominix, anyone? )
Once the new AB's are out I'll have another look at the setup, in particular trying to fit a webber on and trying to make better use of the turret slots.
