Thanks. honestly i dont think kil2 mic is an issue, i hear a lot of ppl complaining about it, but brianna's voice kept cutting out today It's a very sharp and piercing sound, was like that last year as well and guessing he sounds like that on their own comms as well :P It's not really his voice, it's either a crappy mic or he has turned the boost up too high, i'm sure he has a lovely voice once tuned in properly... And he is one of the few with a clue when commenting. And if you hear a lot of people complaining about it, there must be something wrong.

Because during a match, they dont even announce the ships in the same order that WE see on the live stream. They even sometime, say that they dont know what happen even if the camera focus was on the ship that just blew up ? So my main concern is: what are they looking at ? Do they have at least 2 computers for different point of view (if not the case, could be a not so bad, idea) or juste the live stream with target made by CCP Claw ? Oh. And srsly, difference between armor and shield tanking ? Really ?

For at least the preliminaries we're all sitting on our home pcs with the same view as you would have were you to be cloaked 100km or so away from the fight. We don't see what the studio camera is doing as far as switching angles and such is concerned and have no idea what it's focused on. If we used the view from the stream it would cause problems because there's a 15 second or so delay. We also don't have the nice neat target breakdown that separates the team's ships on either side of the screen like you see in the stream, which can lead to some confusion and it can take some getting used to. Insofar as the shield and armor tanking issue... someone can correct me if I'm wrong but the tournament is not just for super duper eve pros. I'd hazard a guess that quite a few people watching the tournament don't understand the differences between shield and armor tanking. Our goal is to ensure that we're providing as much educational information as possible because there is a large audience spread across multiple levels of Eve knowledge. While you may personally know the difference or some of the more obvious vet things, there are a whole lot of people watching the broadcast who will not. I hope this answers your questions.

I would like it if once the ships are lined up the commentators would not only read the ships (which we can do ourselves) but tell us which are close and which are at a far range. (which I can't always tell) Also talk about what they would do if they were fcing the fleets. What might some key goals be or some weaknesses that can be exploited and how they would try to do that. I realize they don't have allot of time to find out what the fleets are and they won't be perfect. Nevertheless talking out loud and letting us know what strategies would be considered and why they would be rejected or accepted would be great. What to primary first and why. Are the ships all going for the primary or are some ships tackling a larger ship to keep it from the fray? Sometimes its hard to tell from the video feed. If the commentators knew this and let us know it would be great. We can after all see what ships are taking damage so there is no need to announce that. Don't be afraid that some of the commentary will be over the head of beginners. I can't speak to the exact instances you're referring to, but I know that when we had this issue last year it was due to bonuses. Bonuses are reapplied when you change sessions. For example, when you're in a fleet and you jump through a gate you'll notice that the bonuses are reapplied and you will seem to have a chunk of missing shields every time you go through a gate. The same applies to capitals when you make a jump. So when the ships are moved from wherever they are the ship's shields are at 100% when moved WITHOUT bonus, then the bonus is applied which causes the bonused portion of the shields to be missing. :edit: I just noticed that the dude above me already replied but hopefully the extra words I've provided are of some value. You have to keep in mind that some people are just listening to the audio and not watching the actual video feed, so they do need to mention stuff like that for those people.

This is the way commentary has always been, this is why every tournament we get asked such fundamental questions. The Tournament is a showcase for Eve, for everyone, not just entertainment for bitter vets. Hence, the commentary is generally play by play and things that are sometimes obvious to experienced players are explained or talked about. >>> THE LIFE OF AN OUTLAW <<<

That team that fielded 91 points were trying to use the "intentional handicap" rule, so if they win with 9 points less, they would get 9 points extra. In the same way, fielding 91 points do NOT mean the other team gets less points - they immediately get those points anyway without even killing anyone for them.
