I'm enjoying it so far, do you really want expert players who know every term ever thought of in Eve while you can have people who are happy and smiley but also provide a good view of what is going on?
If you bring in a bunch of guys who just say what is going on to the exact details then watching this event will not be fun at all. This is all about fun, as you can see with some of the matches we have been getting today.

Why not have knowledgable commentators who can provide an entertaining and good view of what is going on?
It isn't so much what is said, but how it is being said. It is understandable that there are new players, and people not in eve who watch. Can be seen by new subscriptions during and after the tourneys. But stating the overly obvious, is annoying. Repeating yourself and talking in circles, its annoying repeating and talking in circles.

After listening to this for 3 days now, its starting to get from comical to sad. No offence brianna tempest. Your prob a lovly girl and everything.
Lets offer her a isk parachute, its nothing wrong with trying to commentating, and she did rly give it a nice try.
Sometimes some ppl cant do a job very good even if they try hard.
Lets raise a isk parachute to make it a bit easyer on her, as I dont personally feel any ill feelings agains her. She can go with her head stright, but please for the sake of the listeners, let her go.

Well I'll give it to her, she is trying harder it seems. She just pronounced Scimitar like one is supposed in the last match. Here's me hoping this evolves into something more bearable

Well, from all the people that wanted to do the commentary, she was amongst the few who were picked. That means that these others were far worse.
The guy who comes in last at an Olympic race is still better than 99.99% of the worlds population. The guys that we are listening to may not be the best, but they are the best that our community has to offer.
There may be some ignorant basters who are better, but they didn't even bother to volunteer.

Funny tho that its that huge leap between her and the rest of the commentators. its like (using your methafor) a Olympic skiier from kenya arriving 1.5h hour after the other guys, only reasons hes with the Ol is because kenya doesnt have any other skiiers. Does that make him suited as a expert Olympic skiier?
I take a guess and guess she been a girl beeing a huge factor when she was picked. I have nothing agains girls, I accualy like them very much.(Im not gay)
But there is more important qualities than been a real girl;)

brianna is the worst, yes, but let's not forget the othter terrible commentators: everyone but kil2: verone is a non-stop fountain of stupid, darius urr hurr burrr blurr durr johnson, angel is terrible too.

Although I understand that it must be a hard job to commentate, and that one is going to be nervous etc. I think that you should have a few skills under your belt before wanting to become a commentator such as the ability to sound confident under pressure and in front of an audience, but most importantly to know what you are talking about.
Alas, since I've come to believe that CCP don't understand their own game looking at some of the changes that they've made over the past couple of years that I've been about for, when looking for commentators they must have thought that Brianna's in depth knowledge about fish and her degree in stating the obvious fell in line with their own Eve knowledge :P

It's understandable that not all commentators have extensive knowledge of pvp or that they have no noticeable personality but the fact that CCP picked 3 commentators that have neither attribute is pretty bad really.

many of you are sounding like the muppets who complain about FCs. stfu and see if you can do better, remember there are no professional commentators here. kil2 is the only competent one so far, but let's see if the others can improve, at least she's already pronouncing scimitar correctly so she's moving in the right direction.
next tourney how about the CSM holds a commentator competition where the best join kil2? ofc all the whiners, especially those who think her gender has anything to do with anything, would leap at the chance to get on stage and compete eh?
edit/ my point is, she's not professional, some of the other commentators are worse, you couldn't do better, so be kinder...

Bad bad bad commentating for the first half. I don't want to stomp very hard on Verone, but he just didn't contribute a lot to the broadcast, while Brianna did **** all except making me :RAGE: so hard, that I turned the sound off after the third fight.
To sum it up. I enjoyed the broadcast.
Heros of the day are Co2 hands down for obvious reasons.
