She's still better than the st-st-stuttering commentator that just about puts me to sleep. Get rid of him first if anything.

You know, this thread (and those associated with it) remind me of the anti-Ankh campaign for CSM. Oddly enough, it's turning out to be just as effective.
You folks should put your name(s) in the proverbial hat next time, keeping in mind that the commentary isn't just for the bitter among us who've nothing better to do than practice their forum-fu - it's also for people who may be youtube'ing EVE, and don't understand the mechanics (even though some have been misstated, any match could be the first one a potential subscriber watches, and thus some of the "noob" commentary people seem to be whining about.)
IMO - so far, so good, commentary-wise. Looking forward to more live AT action tomorrow.

Well if noobs who've never seen eve before are going to get anything out of the commentary, I'd hope they'd get the correct information rather than clearly wrong calls and random talk about aesthetics in the middle of the combat.

I'm sorry... Where did the third "A" in my name come from? It's really not that hard to see how it's pronounced...
BTW, I'm not interested in Bugs, Squid Tentacled Hobgoblins, or Fish, making my Alliances input to the Tounry sound like a Japanese Hentai Movie. Seriously, why not talk about how the Plasma planet in the background was so pretty to watch as the ships died and you said nothing about the fight itself...
Anyway, I really enjoyed the fight, shame I didn't fraps it, would have been better than having this crap spoiling my first experience in the Tourny. Glad I didn't have the EvE TV feed playing on my other PC as I was fighting...

i wouldnt mind applying to be a commentator id just say wtf i want about each team and iv been calling most strategies wright latly ^^ allso i actually notice when something is takin dmg not like a ship takin dmg for 5-10 mins then goes down and they say "OHHHHH look at that it just got instaed from shield to nothin" like seriously are they watching this fight lol?

I'm an Eve nub, so I don't understand all of the nuances of PvP and this is the first tournament that I've watched. But I don't see how the commentators are really that bad.
Kil2 is obviously very good.
Verone started off a bit weak, has turned out to be very capable.
Darius seems to be a bit nervous, but he gets better every match. I find him to be quite likable.
Angelhun I find to be a very solid commentator.
All in all, the commentators make a very enjoyable event to watch, even better.

If you guys would have watched the video while listening you should have seen that none from Snatch was taking damage at that moment. With a little reasoning it's very obvious she meant there weren't any dps done at that moment, not that there weren't any damage potential. Maybe not the best choice of words, but it didn't take much to figure out what she meant.

First of all i want to say that i really got some respect for the task of commentating games. It really is not as easy as most ppl might think, did some commentating on a few tournys i organised within a corp i used to run.
Sadly i gotta agree to the ppl who are disappointed with the commentators in some matches. For the 1st time i was asking myself if the commentators are actually playing the game themselves.
Still.. try not to be to harsh... They are all just trying and when you think you can do better, apply as commentator for the next tourney and show us that you can do better ;).
