Flew through a Amsen the other day and noticed CynoAlt ***** about 8 of them newly created. I gather that is what people do.
It's like RR alts, people would rather keep their main in a combat ship ready to join the fight then be the guy sitting 70km away just repping people. Same principle with Cyno...

No, its a sign that capital ships are something that require team working to use (or make your own team with yourself and a cyno alt).
The bottom line is that now I have one of those annoying signatures. |

I just opened up a ton of accounts in order to raise cyno alts. Each account has one actual legit character on it...that I will probably never play.
I imagine this is working as intended.

Not sure I 'get' the issue.
I think it's an issue you can make bank tanking majors in Minmatar FW with a fresh account.
I think it's an issue that you can kill an exhumer with a more-or-less fresh account in a destroyer.
Not really seeing how people lighting cynosaural fields (which you need a separate character to do for you anyway, by nature) presents a huge issue.
We've all heard the horror stories about jumping into "friendly" cynos and honestly, there are worse alting activities out there.

As patient as I can be at times, I really don't want to wait around for somebody else to be available when I need to jump my caps from one place to another. ;)
If everybody I knew in Eve could open up a cyno, then it wouldn't be much of an issue. But that isn't the case, and I make due with a second account for it.
I don't however keep that account open at all times. I tend to only re-activate it when I know I am going to be needing it in the near future. |

Cyno alts really aren't the problem.
The whole "jump" mechanic needs to be looked at in general.
It is far too easy to move fleets (cap or otherwise) significant distances in EVE... and the ability to jump a fleet without also needing to take the Titan or BO battleship through with it needs to be looked at.
To carve a successful niche for yourself in EVE you need to be able to out sell, out produce, out fight,-á out run, or out wit your competitors.
If you can do none of the above, your only option is to complain on the forums that somehow you are at a disadvantage using the exact same tool set-áas the rest of the player base. |

Everyone is joking about this...and most likely rightfully so considering the nerd-rageness of the OP.
BUT...
Is it really good game design? No one likes to use their mains (for obvious reasons) lighting cynos unless you are in a recon and cynoing in carriers that can rep you. Why can't we work on those obvious reasons? No one considers a well placed or timed cyno a mini profession...and that is a shame considering how important it can be.

Those are valid targets but if you want to remove Cyno alts then:
- CCP should start by removing boosting alts, jamming alts, remote rep alts, multiboxing, those have a much higher negative impact than a cheap throwaway cyno alt.
