Nice to see a dev post like this for a change. Far better imo to have one saying "we're working on the issue but no ETA on the fix yet" than having every few minutes an eta that keeps slipping while the problem is found.

( Sorry..........couldn't resist........... ) The server is working fine, the Dev's decided they didn't like you, so made a litle snippet of code that would block your characters from logging in, by telling you they were stuck and to log another charcter in instead.
