Pls do not reward a team in a tie that is running away for its life.
The legion tried to fight, and the loki was a coward. Not right if the coward moves on.

Logical reasons why Pandas should win
a) Dramiel died like a ****** b) Loki had about 50% shields, Legion had about 90% shields c) Legion tried to fight d) Pandas are nice animals

im sad panda didnt go on , got some old friends there.
when that is said then you really cant blame dys, most of you if you have brains would do the same, CCP make the rules and just like a football team that doesnt need to score to win there group then dys didnt need to take any risk in the end but just stay alive.
When it comes down to it only 1st place counts.
cheers to dys for being tactical and go for the win , if theyhad lost because of being brave , they would get just as much troll for not being smart.
p.s , and u all know it, just wont admit it because you are all such awesome pvp,ers

It's a ****ty way to win. But, it is the rules and everyone who entered the tournament knew them, or should have. Just like dying to a black screen is a ****ty way to go out, it is the game and everyone knows that when they jump in.
I like fast paced action myself but they played by the rules and won. And like what was said earlier, they would have been trolled either way, so why not be trolled while advancing in the tournament??

More likely some(you) people rage impotently for a few days and that will be it. I can also confirm, that others(me) didn't care for the ending, but accept that teams are here to win the tournament and would be fools to let e-honour come in the way.

Dystopia should definitely get the win. Running away or turtle-tank tactics are lame but very valid strategies and you cannot just arbitrarily decide that one team should lose.
The rule that sucks is the tiebreaker rule. They should have a 1v1 AF overtime deathmatch or something. No one likes to see a team advance based on something that happened weeks ago. - It's not "Play through a pre-set story, become stronger, do endgame". Gameplay is open ended, and you make your own story. Unless you're too afraid of 'pvp grief' to do anything relevant |

The entire tournament is based on points, right down to the ship setups. Therefore Dystopia did exactly what they had to do to win. If you watch and see how much dps that Dramiel recovered and escaped from you'd prolly guess that he had to burn out his mods to stay alive as long as he did thus finally getting caught; and the fact that he soaked up as much fire he did that could have been placed onto killing other things faster absolutely helped in that win.
Grow up kiddies, it's not a "Fight to the death" match, it's a points tournament.

In that you are true, but what would dystopia feel about having the rule changed for next tourney, or one added? While it was a win, and if I was FC of your team, I would have done the same thing because your loki pilot probably would have lost the one on one. But isn't running the ring without engaging no different than docking up in a station or running away and therefore not pvp? Would you not smacktalk local if somebody did the same in open TQ combat?

Well, I'm not Dystopia and not even anyone official from Panda but I think they should have a rule that says:
Instead of a 15 minute time limit: From 13 minutes into the match the arena size will be reduced by 25km radius per minute. (13: 100km, 14: 75km, 15: 50km, 16L 25km).
At 17 minutes all mid and low slot mods would be put offline. (GM might need a new tool to do that!)
At 18 minutes whichever team has highest total points value of ship * % of ship HP remaining wins.
(i.e. a team with a command ship on 50% hp and a bomber on full would get 6 pts for the bomber and 16*0.5 for the command ship).

Oooh, the shrinking arena could be interesting, but tough to execute. For the sake of entertainment (as seen in the match) I think a simple rule where you cannot sit and run for x minutes. If the team does not actively engage, then forfeit, or say one point to apposing team per minute of failure to engage? Course this would not count if it is due to ewar, etc.

Seriously guys,
If Panda wanted the win they should have done better on previous matches. Crying now and making up overcomplicated rules that would benefit your style of play is not the way. Also, Panda brought to the match ships that could have overtaken, tackle and kill that Loki, it is their own fault they lost those ships early and thus the game.
The fact is not that Dystopia won by running away, Panda had already lost the game before that point.

Grow up. Dystopia won fair and square by the letter of the rules and I've never said otherwise.
I'm suggesting a rule that will improve the tourney in the future - and is just as likely to penalise us as anyone else since we've flown our fair share of Minmatar/fast setups! If we'd won the match the same way Dystopia did I'd have (1) taken the win and (2) made the same suggestion for a rules change.
I believe this is actually the first time in tourney history (certianly since the new format was introduced with this tiebreaker rule) that the "tiebreaker" rule has actually come into effect which is why it's getting so much discussion now.
Watching one ship run away for 8 minutes is not fun for anyone... never mind who wins or loses at the end...
Imagine the scenario where one team comes out of the qualifiers ranked first and then proceeed through to win the tournament without ever destroying an enemy ship.
If they brought enough speed/tank that is exactly what could be done using the existing rules (although it would be unlikely I admit!).

This tbh, can't rightly blame Dystopia for doing the tourney by the book and no way that loki would have survived 1v1 with the legion (although legions still are terribad and need a buff).
However, at least when it's Dystopia running away you can't really look away those 8 benny hill minutes 'cos there could well be a failcascade ^^
All the above is prolly crap Drone Guide
