Edited by: Cpt Branko on 25/06/2010 11:50:24 The easiest way to kill it provided it doesn't have a scout alt is to just camp the gate with enough instalocking artillery and it's dead once they get a lock (instantly).
Also a ton of ships have very good odds of soloing a Vaga. The nanodays are gone, nowdays the Vaga has **** agility which makes it fairly easy to catch. Biggest problem is getting one to engage really.

A (2x) nano Drake with 2 webs and a disruptor can kill one if he tries to engage. Which is the hard thing...
Faction webs or interdiction manoeuver makes it really easy. Faction disruptor or interdiction manoeuver on his side makes it harder.
If you can't catch him because he is too careful/fast/agile, then use precision scourge, he won't like it. Depending on his fit/speed, faction are sometimes better.

The Myrmidon can't do much outside web range? What are you smoking, and did you bring enough to share with the class?
thanks for having rock solid arguments plz explain what your uber myrm will do to someone outside your web/scram range im here to learn from the best , that seems to be you

Some Myrm pilots actually bring drones with them, and they have the drone bay to ensure you lose the drone war.
Furthermore, even a mediocre Myrm fit will tank all the damage your Vagabond can put out without problems for as long as it takes its drones to obliterate you 5 times.

i fly a vagabond aswell, only time i lost one was by landing in a buble and had 2 rapiers and arazu on me. Other then that the vaga eats ceptors for breakfast, u need a decent ship to counter it, actualy a cynabal can win it fairly easy. Someone mentioned a curse but the vaga kills a curse before cap is down if ur capable of flying a vagabond that is.

A Vagabonds capacitor lasts for x2 cycles with x2 Neuts, id like to see the vaga that eats my 16k shields in that short amount of time. I am very very certain no vagabond will shoot down my Curse, not a single one has engaged me either, I take that as a "I concur" from the respective pilots.

true it probly can tank the vaga for ever as for your uber drone bay OBLITERATING 5 TIMES a vaga i dont think were using the same drones , because those that actualy can follow the vaga in orbite will be far from OBLITERATING him

Out of interest, would you Vaga pilots out there go after a Cyclone?

I'm not a vaga pilot, but I'd say it'd be a toss up, PVP cyclone is known to be VERY quick, and can have a serious active tank, and as such is usually scram fitted. Scram + tank + quick = Dangrous to a vaga
On the other hand they're not often used as PVP ships, and often get a bad rep being a tier 1 BC
So it'd really depend on the vaga pilot. ------------------------

vagas are fast but low on cap 1v1 no amar ship can keep one pined down unless the vaga pilot comes within scram range so maby a nub vaga pilot in his firt time flyin one curse is the most effective ship v vaga if the vaga hangs around he will lose i suggest in amar not takeing on a vaga solo team up with someone cynabals are basicly the same but if you do eve get a vaga pilot come with scram rage id want my ashammu scram web bonus plus nuets and damage love that ship

Im sure most of them will try.
While cyclone is pretty fast for bc, its 2 times slower than vaga, so you shouldnt get caught by cyclone if you know what are you doing /i.e not flying like approach button addict/. It also doesnt have canes dps at range /its usually fitted with 3x gyros or 2x gyros and 1x te, + hams/.
Problem is, active tanked cyclone can most likely tank you till you cap out yourself by mwding /and if its good pilot he will force you to mwd, he will burn away and then overheat straight towards you etc./.

Im sure most of them will try.
So in the OP's case, setting up to catch a Vaga, maybe some sort of "Q-Ship" Cyclone acting like a ratter could be worth a try. Some nano, a faction scram, pills and implants, command ship elsewhere with ganglinks for agility and scram range...
Do you think that would be worth a go?

Only things that will decide if you can get him or not are yours and his piloting skils. Boosting command ship, faction scram etc. are ofc BIG advantages.

Just fit a tracking disruptor with a range script. Forces them in close or something with a **** load of damps. Once there in close I am sure you can figure out what to do with those scrams and webs.

Once they are jumping into another system to catch something easier I am sure you can figure out how to spin your ship in station cause you are not getting any pvp from that vagabond today.

We got one by doing the following:
warp in with a nano hurricane (just basically a bigger vaga) and start to fight. Have a neut ship (curse) stand by at the other end of the gate or somewhere safespotted.
If everything fails (good vaga or bad tracking on your side) or your shield is at 25% the vaga will proly be so focussed on killing you he doesnt notice the curse warping in..... Let the curse neut him Now its your turn to circle him at a few kilometres a second ^^

Dont see that a tracking disruptor w/range script would cause a vaga any problems tbh. IIRC (And its entirely possible I don't ) the scripted TD only reduces optimal, and does nothing to falloff = doesn't bother a vaga?
I keep meaning to fit a vaga with a cap booster instead of the second LSE and go play with a curse, see what happens.
