you know what this universe is missing? i mean, seriously, between us, i love space whales as much as the next guy, but every time i wake up and smell morning synthetic coffee, while my pod is being serviced with premium greenish pod-goo freshly imported from whichever-planet-has-the-lowest-radiation-ratings-this-week, perusing this morning-as-far-as-im-concerned's newsbits, something is missing. SOMETHING IS MISSING.
well. after a long and perilous journey, i have gotten closer than ever from my eventual destination by making a MOMENTOUS discovery that should hopefully perpetually change the destiny of trillions of denizens of new edens.
ducks.
(o< (/)_
imagine. we all know and cherish high-security level controlled-by-artificial-means pirate ships, but sadly, they have a few shortcomings:
1) they don't scramble (GUISE GUISE LET'S EVADE 10 AU WORTH OF CONCORD SECURITY BUT NOT FIT SCRAMBLERS OK HEY LETS GO) 2) they don't always have lasers.
enter SPACE DUCKS.
(-_ (/)_
(only one spaceduck pictured on schema, imagine multiple when actual reality is concerned.)
why is space duck desirable?
1) SPACE DUCK ALWAYS FITS SCRAMBLER 2) as you can see, space duck has space googles that let him or her modulate the amount of laser to apply to target 3) tiny size of space duck lets him or her evade targeting systems more easily! more space ducks can thus be fielded, and cloaking devices are rendered useless! he is also unprobable obviously from the tiny size, although if pack of duck fire laser at same time it might register on the more superior quality radar bits.
as you can see, space duck is destined to a bright and fantastic future!
wait. you want to fit space duck within your spaceship fight attack apparatus for your miner ship while you happily mine away the precious resources of a limited universe?
TOUGH LUCK. SPACE DUCK DOES NOT TOLERATE ECOLOGICAL MUTILATION.
you think kissing veldspar was all fun and games? THINK AGAIN.
SPACE DUCK IS WAITING FOR YOU. |

To the OP, live with it.
No point ranting about Hulkageddon, it's here and love it or hate it you have to adapt to it's presence. See this as an opportunity to do something different, explore new avenues maybe go buy some combat ships and try to do something about it but whatever you do losing your cool on the forums is not going to change it.

OP should be happy.. finally some excitement in his life. And anyways.. keep an eye on scan or whatever and take care of yourself. Stop thinking hisec is gonna keep you all safe since it just isn't. And if we get you then it's your own fault. With all this publicity you have been warned more then enough I would say.

The OP has a point...sort of If a older player with his hulk gets ganked in high sec because he failed to watch local and his overview or failed to tank his hulk, well he has only himself to blame. But if a a new player with only a few weeks experience and just got his first retriever gets ganked i feel really sorry for him. He doesn't deserve to get ganked, EVE is already harsh enough for starting players.
Macro miners on the other hand deserve nothing better than getting ganked, but i wonder if it will really help removing macro's from the game,

And thus is life.
But with any luck, that newb will get blown up and follow this track in his EVE career:
- Newb gets angry
- Newb trains PvP skills while mining for a combat ship
- Newb builds PvP ship and moves to lowsec
- Newb joins PvP corp and hunts his killer
- Newb and former killer unite in a DUO OF GLORY
- Newb and former killer proceed to dominate the universe
As you can CLEARLY see, there is a DEFINITE possibility for any newb getting ganked to rule the universe. Therefore, I think more should be ganked for the sole purpose of bringing more into lowsec.

Well if CCP would do something about the rampant botting that pushes mineral prices to an all time low, all this wouldn't be necessary. Since they don't or apparently don't seem to give a damn ..

It is an event aimed against an entire profession and restricted within the beginner area of EVE - high-sec. It is not fair, because only miners can be ganked on such a large scale, but no other profession.
If it was the first kind of such an event one could always argue to give it some time to grow, but it is the same stupid idea over and over again.
Repeat it often enough and it will fail. My guess is this is one of the intentions behind it, to see how often they can do it. --

Your opinion is entirely wrong, and irrelevant. Before you say 'no u 2 r not important opinionz', this event is sanctioned by CCP. If high-sec is noob only, why is such a high percentage of the population living there?
Stop trolling, or at least find something new to say.

My opinion is just fine, thank you, Mrs. Troll. I usually leave people their opinions when I believe they mean it.
CCP has not sanctioned Hulkageddon. They have only patted you on the back to play their game. If what you do then interferes with their business will they put an end on it. They only want to see how far you are taking it before they start doing something. They will first leave it to us players to set your heads straight.

true, it's a step in the right direction, although there is a definite lack of lasers and goggles in the case of the drake, and there is also the matter of the absolutely terrifying maniability (or complete lack thereof.) space duck is or at least should be much more nimble.
i was thinking more like scrambler drones with guns, but more independant, as space duck isn't a mere drone canoodling about aimlessly without guidance, it knows how to aim and fire, thanks to self-awareness (although you really have to wonder how much self-awareness you can have to strap yourself to a rocket-propelled apparatus, but i am not a philosopher so i do not waste much time on such subtle considerations) and other various cognitive functions made possible by advanced sentience and special duck technologies, and could thus keep on working on a target even after your ship passes away dramatically during a fight! a bit like human-controlled fighters for drones, but normal-ship sized and without the whole warp-drive thing that space duck doesn't require.
plus imagine the depth it would add to the storyline! space ducks escape from secret military lab, find refuge within the belts of precious veldspar, which become their primary breeding ground where they raise year after year whole packs of little fragile ducklings, only to wake up one morning and find their habitat shamelessly destroyed by unscrupulous industrialists hell-bent on systematically harvesting natural resources with only their personal profits in mind. SPACE DUCK REBELS AND ATTACKS!
IN FACT COULD SPACE DUCK HAVE HIDDEN AGENDA AND BE AMONG THE ANONYMOUS HULKAGEDDON 3 BENEFACTORS?
you could even make space duck available thru low security pirate and shady corporation lp stores! oh the more i think about it, the more i like the idea, where is my CSM representative??? |

I too, has been raging about Hulkageddon - Last time, when Hulkageddon 2 was approaching i was sitting in my dear old retriever mining my scordite. I was cursing in corp chat about hulkageddon and how utterly pointless such an event was. Now, i have grown in EvE, i still live in highsec, but i no longer whine about pointless events.. i have had my fun with baiting a canflipper and pop him.. after that event i realised why people enjoy ****ing over defenseless ****s, i hope that one day my experience and skillset will be descent enough to move towards some proper pvp
Have fun mining, and please.. stop whining and dock all your indy ships for that week.. surely you can manage to do some lvl 1 missions in a frigate for some time?

Le sigh...
Another poor soul who has been brainwashed by the bourgeoisie into thinking industry is a fun and profitable diversion...
Good sir, Hulkageddon's purpose is to liberate miners from the choke hold that the bourgeoisie exert over industry.
