Dear CCP,
I am exploring the features of planetary interaction and I noticed that after building a command center (CC) on a planet you cannot later change it (e.g. upgrade it) without losing the entire colony.
However, regadless how well you can pre-plan your colony, it's possible after landing on a planet that you'll need a more advanced CC.
Also, players such as me who are still advancing and cannot afford an elite CC at the moment, may later want to upgrade a pre-existing colony without destroying and rebuilding the entire network.
I believe that players should have the ability to upgrade our CCs. This could be done by purchasing the more advanced CCs from the market as usual and placing them on top of the previous CC. Alternatively, you could add an 'upgrade' button in the CC menu, where we could pay the money difference for the CC we want to use (just like the 'upgrade link' button).
What do you think? Are you considering to include this feature in PI?

I would *love* this. I'm pretty sure they had something like it in the early stages of PI testing, as well, but it was later taken out.

it would be nice if there were a way to "offline" the stuff, and then remove the CC, and then replace it with a better one, reconnect it, and online everything.
That being said, there shouldn't be some magical "upgrade" button that makes your CC better, this should be like POS's where you have to drag out the new component.

Yes, ist a big bust. The problem was reported on test server before the release of Tyrranis. Check this thread:
One have to train the skill to lvl4 at least to start with PI, otherwise it does not make sense. I will shortly get lvl5 and will have to upgrade (do from scratch) all 5 planets that I have set up already. Its a lot of pointelss work.
Pity is devs didnt even care to make a statement about the issue, or I havent found one.
