Getting into 0.0 is easy in frigate as is travelling around. I don't even bother with instas. Just fit an MWD and ignore the pirates.
In cruiser or BS it's harder but the answer is to join an alliance or nina mine. Ultimately (and I say this as someone who has spent 98% of his time in Empire) it's all about risk v. reward.
If you want big rewards you have to take big risks. -- (Battle hardened miner)

Nice. I'm beginning to get a picture of the kind of person you are.

There is no secret. Fly a shuttle or a frigate then they can't do anything to you. Or rather by the time they can do something you aren't there to have it done to you. Go in just after dt and chances are it'll be empty.
I brought an alt out of 0.0 this evening. He did the final run to the empire gate without an insta. I just let the autopilot fly my ship and when I came out of warp hit the MWD. Surprisingly someone in an Apoc managed to fire twice (must've had small turrets narf, narf ) but I had already jumped. Was quite a nice effect although I did initially think the bright light was me going up in flames
I will concede that once you get into 0.0 without permission there's little you can actually do other than ninja mine. But that is exciting and surprisingly fruitful. Alternatively you can fly around looking for people in indys so that you can annoy them by removing their indy -- (Battle hardened miner)
