As a project manager for a team of 120+ programmers, id say its time for you to look for another job. One that does not involve such complicated knowledge like making sure the new setup works BEFORE shutting down the old one.

they didnt replace the servers, so there was no way to test the "new" setup before everything had been moved there.

As a CEO of Fortune 500 company, I'd say it's time for you to look for another job. One that doesn't involve complicated activities, like familiarizing yourself with facts before making outrageous suggestions.

Yeah thanks for aggregating your gear; I sure have hopes for smoother game play. Sorry it didn't go as well as everybody would've hoped. I'm sure you all feel a bit bummed to keep your 320k+ clients waiting. Best wishes for a smooth move from here on out. |

This explains why you're a manager and not a programmer.

CCP, thank you for making the best game in the world, and for making it even better!

"they didnt replace the servers, so there was no way to test the "new" setup before everything had been moved there."
CCP's own posts said there was a problem with the new routers, in addition to the database problem. Do you really think it would have been impossible for them to test a router before going live with it?

Nice to see a positive post about this DT for once, too bad someone had to come in and ruin it. I imagine a lot of CCP employees are gonna need a lot of rest in the coming hours, thanks for the hard work CCP, looking forward to logging back in.

If you are a project manager of 120+ you should have the tendency to review the information available on a subject before making a decision.
Just sayin. This is clearly a signature. |

CCP is trying to give me a better service for the same amount of money every month..... I'm pretty sure that I'm ok with that. Don't really care how long it takes. That's just me though.

Wow you must be one hell of a Project Manager to be able to make that kind of root cause analysis without seeing any of CCP's project documentation of having any real understanding of how their kit works. Never mind even understanding the unexpected issue that caused the unexpected extension to the planned outage.
I'm glad I don't work for you.
