Quote: Secondly, there were only 2 sides in the beginning of the Great Northern War, the NCA and PA. NCA was hurting PA, period.
lol, please. The corps that eventually formed BOB were the ones that hurt the PA. If the war had only ever been NCA vs PA you would be refining your ore in a PA station in Deklain now.

NCA fell along time ago mate. was arround the same time that completely conincidentally jade left the game (his reason was cos his forum ban). anyhow pa is still about doubtless in turmoil atm but there is a great potential to turn whats left intoa close nitt colection of peeps ready and willing to fight.
thats yet to materialise but the players are in place.
as for bob theyre roaming and ganking. this will proably continue for a while until the north as a whole realises that alliances dont matter when going agisnt bob. in the past theres been the feeling of "oh were not been attacked, lets carebare it up and build a fleet for when they do attack and we will pwn them" bob inevitably prove this wrong.
there isnt an alliance in the north that can organise well enought all its members well enougth to be a threat to bob. all they have to worry about is the small gangs of 10 or less roaming arorund killing their haulers.
once the north acts as a whole thou bob will be having a difrent time. ironically enought NAST would have made sure the alliances banded together to fight bob in the first place. either by clever manipulation or thru luck (depending on who u belive) bob has made the norht turn on its self. divde and concqure. not sure if it was bob itself that did that or if it was elements from all the alliances with the wonderfull help of jade constatine.
so... WAKE UP NORTH

Sorry mate, the North is officially BoB'ed.
At DT today, we control all stations in Deklein, Branch, Venal, Tenal and DiE/Krom/Nem control Fade... and if you read the patch notes, you will see why that is specifically important today.

Edited by: Moneta on 16/12/2004 11:12:01 Well, only thing the North is about to wake up to after downtime and patch is not being able to dock anywhere north of the pure-blind > venal > tribute line.
Except for us ofc.
I'm curious what the effect will be. Originally by: Aneu Angellus Iv held back from posting on this thread for quite some time, but i think the time had come for me to come in and post.

As far as I was aware and from what I remember from the flame wars on this forum Evol and m0o stated they were not part of the NCA and were fighting PA for their own reasons.
It was those two corps that were doing most of the damage to PA (during my timezone). RKK were effective in combination with them as well. I'm not trying to flame the fighters from the NCA but I don't recall them causing major problems for PA as the war progressed.

Originally by: Mastiphal Nosferatu you may believe CoD/FU/Norad/Unicor, etc... didn't do much damage, but remember, even cannon fodder is usefull in a war...
in fact they did a lot of damage, they forced PA to send the fleet out of venal leaving bob alone. Believe or not, before PA sent fleets to deklein and fade, BOB (without bnc and atuk) was forced to hide. When PA fleet (weakened after few months of fighting) came back to venal bob gained bnc, atuk + many single corps like rough-necks, dab, salmissra, dreamsmiths, and sol confederation consisting of another 5-8 corps.
Quote: But if PA was beating up NSA/FU/Norad, why did they sign the ceasefire then? I mean, if your winning, you don't back down cause your victim ask for it politely? That's called mercy, and it has a bit of a bad taste as I recall...
we had way too few numbers to fight bob and nca together, nca was choosen to kill first because they were weakest of our all enemies, so after nca threat was no more we could focus on our main enemy - bob, but bob didn't sleep, they were growing

Edited by: Shirei on 16/12/2004 17:04:26 Yeh, those conquerable stations are gonna be annoying to take over now with ~40 mil HP (or whatever they have now).
But, if you look at the other parts of the patch notes, you'll see that conquerable stations will become way less important anyway because useful POS refining arrays are coming out as well. If/when factory POS modules come out (or are they out already, I can't remember atm), it should be pretty much possible to operate completely from a few POS.

yes but your missing the point that the POS can be destroyed.. and with the right setups very easily i might add.. The conquerable stations can only be taken over with hours of pounding ..
