What we need is error bounds on the estimate, which can be helped from previous data. For example, instead of 3hr downtime, it can be 3hr +- 2 hour downtime (60% probability, given previous record of 3hr dt estimates) or something like that.
Then on the other hand, longer down time just means you do something else and it isn't a huge deal unless your waiting for a timer or something.

The fact is, its not possible to determine the exact moment servers will be on again...
They will either set an early or a late estimation.

Yes, I'm sure CCP is deliberately misleading us. They totally intend to **** their customers off by yanking their chain about how long the down time will be.

The simplest solution would be to just give us a 24 hour notice that way if we happen to be sitting at the computer drooling waiting for eve we will know before the 24 hour limit is up and if we aren't then the extra time with family isnt a bad thing.

Then give me a smartphone app with push notification that lets me know when the server is up. And I'm not talking about up but only Q&A is able to log in and test the server and then the server goes back down for another 12 hours like we has seen recently, but actually up and everyone is able to log in...
