I find this thread funny and stupid at the same time. Funny because when I trained up the HAM Drake way back in 08 everyone was all like omg, Drake suck at PVP, it only tanks, your a noob. I then proved them wrong by using it to kill stuff quite effectively, then they eventually shut their mouths realizing the Drake rocks. :)
And it stupid because noobs in this thread thinks its overpowered.. Its good, granted, but far from overpowered.
It has only ok damage compared to the Harb and Cane, but makes up for it in a decent buffer.
As for "tier 2 BCs are too good": learn to ****ing fly your ships. A BC should be better then a Cruiser and HAC in close combat. Learn to use your cruisers before you act like a big baby crying and moaning about it. As for the Tier 1 BC line, it is pure crap as well, so it needs to be boosted, not the other way around.

the price tag is half of the T2. hence half the firepower

Eve doesn't work that way, on any level. 3% differences in DPS cost you 20 days, and 5% more DPS costs you 50x as much ISK.

If I get some time this weekend I'd like to compare items based on the above concept (not the specific stat of course).
-For a new player - how long does it take to get into a Drake based on the "reccomended skills" from CCP.
-What is the tank/DPS/viability for PvP of that drake based on that training time.
Take the exact same training time and number of skill points and then compare that to a a new player flying HAC, Recon, or CS class. What T2 ship can they feasibly get into with the exact same number of SP's. Now compare the two ships in 1v1 combat.
Also perform the opposite. Take a new character, determine how long and how many skill points it would take to get into a HAC with T2 guns, and a T2 fit, and then take that exact number of skill points and apply it to a Drake or Tier 2 BC fit. What is the outcome? How do those ships compare vs one another.
Might be interesting results.
Of course the natural questions would result - from CCP's perspective, is it fair to compare a HAC vs Tier 2 BC based on the above factors? or a Field Command vs a Tier 2 BC, or a Recon vs a Tier 2 BC? Is it a given that there is no way a Tech 2 Cruiser should be able to compete with a Tier 2 BC or vice versa?
Of course its likely I wont have the time, but it would be interesting.

Drake huh? why would they need to be nerfed? i dont fly them but its normally a close fight against my harbi but drake normally lose, with a nerf it wouldnt be fun to kill them.

Well. if someone is known to fling a dual rep myrm into your face, then all you have to do is fling a heavy missile drake, or even a passive HM drake will work.
But 1v1 is nonexistent. There will always be a falcon somewhere nearby. Passive and active fits are a joke on non capitals. Good luck.
