Will the Drake's absurd tank ever be nerfed?

Hirana Yoshida Behavioral Affront	Posted - 2010.07.01 20:09:00 - [32] If anything the Drake CPU could use a tweak downwards to make a clear separation between gank and tank fits .. it currently has enough for both buffer and damage mods which is where the issue resides. All the BCs can field stupid EHP tanks if they forego offensive capability, but only the Drake has ability to keep 2/3rds max tank together with gank. Not an issue for me though, I would rather see work done on reigning in the ridiculously OP projectile boats

If you have more medium slots you shield tank, more ower, armor tank, and fit damage in the other one. Atleast thats how I have been told.

Fill low slots with Shield Power Relays (Beta Reactor Control or T2) 4.) 3 LSE IIs, 2 Invul Fields (or damage type to be tanked) 5.) 3 Core Defence Field Purgers 6.) ??? 7.) PROFIT!

They broke missles two years ago, they borked the Falcon last year, the Scorpion is garbage now and ECM is pretty much worthless. All that's left is to **** the Drake somehow. It's coming. Soon (TM).

The most flown ship on TQ is the Hulk (according to the latest QEN), with the Drake in second place, and the Kestrel in a close third. Even then, the number of Drake pilots still only comprises 2.26% of the overall population. Not exactly game-breaking. While we're on it, the 10th most popular ship is the Condor. Why that is so, I cannot imagine. But I certainly don't think that piece of junk needs nerfing just because it's on the top ten...

The only team in the Alliance Tournament that made great use of a triple-Drake setup is the one that fitted absolutely no tank to them and used them entirely as E-War platforms (I forget which team this was offhand, though). It was a brilliant maneuver, exploiting the Drake's tendency to be shot last because of how long it generally takes to kill and how little damage it does. Drake is very popular despite this because it requires almost no skill, training, or talent to use. It can easily run level three missions before most other ships, and with more training can graduate to level fours, albeit at an intolerably slow pace for most. It is also a popular ship for rookie PvPers who are afraid to lose a ship, as it is cheap and unlikely to be targeted until the very end of the fight, giving them good odds of being able to flee. Drake is not overpowered. It is overrated.
