This is a warning to all mining vessels to be on alert:
July 9th through the 18th will be when "Hulkageddon" takes place. This is a contest to destroy all mining vessels by any means necessary, any place possible. All miners should take this into consideration when undocking their exhumers, barges, orcas.
For more information on this event, search Google for Hulkageddon or go to: http://www.hulkageddon3.machine9.net/

I wonder if calling Concord over to the area before you begin mining would help? How long do they stick around a belt after they break up a little argument?

It won't since you'll still be one-shotted by the gankers. Also, it's considered an exploit...

Most of the people involved in this will sit in Ice belts but its all the same. Concord kills mean mineral demand as much as anything else. |

Noir. Mercenary Group has made it's 9-18th contract slot available to mining groups for an anti-Hulkageddon contract. If any miners dont appreciate being bullied by gankers, come talk to me about it.
It might not be cheap, but we'll make them bleed. ---

Its an exploit so dont bother. It wont help you anyway since gankers tend to rely on alpha damage.

Pointless for the same reason... gankers only need one shot and Noir can't do crap to stop it, unless the gankers are incredibly incompetent.

Thanks for the warning. Our mining corporation plans to hold a contest to see who can mine and sell the most ore during Hulkageddon. You know, I think it would be great if other mining corporations did the same thing: ran an "ore-board" to tally how many rocks were "killed" during Hulkaggedon..
'Roid-aggeddon!

(okay, maybe not a good name to choose after all, but you get the gist)
Wishing everyone a Happy Hulkageddon in one week!

Like all law enforcement throughout time, they can not guarantee protection, only the state's monopoly on revenge known as justice.
Of course the gankers will be using alpha strike alts while the real characters salvage and loot your smoking wreck, so just stay in dock. Fly some missions, do something else for a week, let the macro-miners get the shaft. Trolls? In my EVE forums? It's more likely than you think... |

during this event you can help proptect yourself by using :interference' in their comm channel ,just l ike a real military. download teamspeak or vent, get the channel info, which is posted around these forums, and then google vent harrassment and use that as a how to guide to cause interference that messes up their ability to relay commands. There's 1, repeat 1, frigate in the T1 lineup designed to be a suicide tackler. the rest are for COMBAT. so don't tell me to tackle when I'm in a combat T1 frig. OR tell CCP to fix their mess. |

Add somebody in gang with a Siege Warfare Mindlink for extra EHP. At an absolute maximum, if somebody is flying a Tengu with Warfare Processor subsystem and runs all three Siege Warfare links, you can be looking at almost 40k EHP (~35k vs EM, ~48k vs Explosive)... + around 300 DPS tank from the same puny booster.
P.S. You might want to keep a few Ospreys nearby pretending to mine but chock-full of shield transfers.

Not really, Hulkaggedon is getting to be regular and therefore easy to plan around. Its only the new people that haven't been through one that are freaking out. The rest of us are just kinda, meh. Trolls? In my EVE forums? It's more likely than you think... |

What are you all talking about, Hulkageddon is the perfect time to mine, you will have almost no competition and mineral prices will rise. So if you're going to mine, do it during Hulkageddon :)

right let's look at this...mission loot got nerfed which was a very large contributer to the ore market and is just showing in the market now, and will continue to move the prices of ore up...which means prices will go up for manufacture with the main contrubuter of ore now miners and your going to gank these guys, this was not the case before as mission loot was a big part of the ore market, ......so miners win win win
witty comment inserted ("Hulkageddon" = win for miners)

With mediocre standings but perfect refine it comes out like this.

Continue?
No.
But mineral prices should, by all likelyhood, go up during Hulkaggedon.
Otherwise the suicide gankers are made of pure fail.

I don't quite get why anyone thinks suicide ganks would have any effect on the mineral basket. You people seem to be under the false impression that miners were actually producing the most minerals.

Considering that someone suiciding tens of thousands of abaddons for insurance fraud didn't even make a dent in the mineral prices, I really doubt the destruction of 2,000 exhumers, is going to have any kind of impact. ---
