I dunno how ccp expect people to take on the responsibilty of running a POS, but then nerf 33% of the reasons for having one by giving out tech 2 components in like batches of 800. A POS could never compete with that.
Its actually put me off even bothering with one.

who gives out 800 tech components?
I've done ~200 missions since exodus and have got 500 tech components
Edit: that's a lvl 4 agent

Besides, as Zrakor has said, the rewards system has moved to a dynamic allocation system that is taking time to level off the rewards.

I would have thought your biggest concern with owning a POS would be in hoping one of the pirate gangs dont spend hours and hours torping it to oblivion

well it has been 3 days, and a flood of rewards does nothing but make the market unstable...

indeed that would be second concern as theres no point building one when one of the main features is a complete loss

I think your fear is exaggerated.
1) There is a HUGE demand for t2 components, which will only increase with time. I build Crows and have always thought it stupid to have to pay 200k + for my Graviton Reactors.
2) You have to let the smaller corps and individuals who cannot afford to build a POS have an opportunity to claim t2 components.
3) Only large corps and alliances will realistically be able to afford to supply a POS (the initial cost is nothing really), so not everyone is going to be able to make t2 components this way.
4) It actually takes several POS to make all the reactions for all the building blocks to make t2 components.
I feel there will be plenty of demand for t2 components, both built and acquired thru agents. The prices on the t2 ships are insanely high atm anyway, so anything that brings down the price, and increases my sales is beneficial IMHO.
As to the destruction of a POS, you should look about for some tales about the fate those fleets who have attempted it. A POS is about the cost of 2-3 BS, but the cost of taking one down is tremendous. The least of them, the Gallente Tower, has 35M shields, and the station guns do severe damage. I have heard of 30+ BS fleets being wiped out trying to take one down.

WTFOMFG The agents are making money, nerf em quickly.
I would say that the recent increase in agent rewards and bountys are way overdue, agent missions have always been the last priority on the devs list, and probably still remains so.
There are still big bugs in the agent system as it stands, and will probably remain there till well after christmas.

so what you are saying basicly is that the thousnads of agent runners shouldnt get tech 2 components anymore just so you can make isks?
As one of the previous posters said the demand for tech 2 components will never end. The more more tech 2 components around the more tech 2 ships people will fly. They might fall a litle in value but there can ever be enough. _____________________________________________

If theres a problem with component manufacturing its that the POS dont build them efficiently enough (ie increase batch sizes from 1 to 10 and it looks a lot better)
If the mission given components are removed, component prices will simply rise to silly levels and tech II demand would drop off drastically (I mean, would you pay 50m for an interceptor, 250m for a heavy assault and so on as you would have to just with manufactured prices)
Oveur stated just before exodus testing started that one of there intentions was to bring tech II prices down a lot closer to the intended (insurance) prices, not to raise them through the roof .. . ----- Apologys for any rambling that may have just occurred.

My point was, which i know i didn't make well, was that by increasing agent rewards )which is fine btw) they have increased the tech 2 comp being dropped. I know ccp intended to make these drop in price but I think that this was a bad way about going about it. They should have made it more economical to build and encourage pos's rather then just saying "oh we need more comps lets increase agents drops" which in itself is a cop out.

Fact is that it's allmost impossible to have the POS running effic´ent enough to compete with the agent runners, if the POS could compete a bit better then the problem would be solved. But if we take the T2 components from the agent runners then I see a lot of builds going skyhigh in prices and only the POS owners would benefit from it, that would be totally unbalancing the game and we could expect about 1000 new threads about nerfing the POS owners
Better to try and fail, then to fail due to not trying |

I think your problem is that the POS should have been producing more tech 2 comps. But you have made a very dramatic topic. And saying that agent runners shouldnt get comps is stupid _____________________________________________
