Although many people seem to dissagree with the current resource allocation, I have to admit, that I am quite happy that they are devoting many resources to 'Incarna'.
As is mentioned in their first post, many people keen to the Sci-fi genre are not neccesarily attracted to EVE-online, one of the reasons is the way the game mechanics work, no direct movement just point and click mostly.
It's one of the reason why it took me a long time to like EVE, I am a fan of Freelancer and Freespace 2, and de X-series games.
EVE is the closest (and only) game to mimic these games, apart from the control scheme, however, I can understand that some people don't like EVE because it's all spaceships, Yes I agree EVE IS about spaceships, but having an avatar, makes it easier to identify yourself with that character.
Something that CCP is trying very hard to do, and with Incarna they might be able to pull it off, I expect that many more people will come to EVE when they learn that they can now walk around in stations. Are able to play small mini-games, there was even a mention of 'underground' missions. Incarna can and probably will be, much more then just walking around in stations, eventually it could lead to a full blown, sci-fi experience, spaceship combat and character combat.
Another explanation towards the resource allocation, is that Incarna is not just coding, it's texturing and all the parts in between, fixing bugs can be easily managed by a small team of programmers, it's no use in assigning a texturer, or a moddeler to fix fleet-lag, they just simply do not have the knowledge.
Let's just see where it goes, EVE is almost an eight year old game, we still play it, even though it might have it's issues, it's ultimately not broken, and the #2 most popular MMO I have come across, in fact I see more advertisements for EVE then I do for any other MMO.
Let CCP do their magic, and leave the resource allocation and such to the people who've done their studies for it. From behind a computer things seem much easier than they are.
