OP demands you task all your writers, artists, and web developers on debugging. GO CCP go!!!
I also rather enjoyed that joke. I laughed, and then I cried because it dawned on me how many people would harp on that and make baseless rumors over it. Oh the EVE community, how easy to read you are.

Web developers generally do not possess the proper skill set to be able to determine, debug, and fix server-side code for MMOs. They do, however, have the proper skill sets to work on Web sites and Web-based features.
great ! so is Dust a joke too ? incarna is that a joke, i know that evegate is a joke obviously. CCP always makes great jokes.

Yes, I do believe that he's a bit angry. At least, judging by that throbbing vein on his forehead.

It makes me sad that some people will troll because of an obvious joke. It's that kind of behaviour that results in the lack of communication so common in other game developer companies.

I did get a backpedaling feeling from that as well.
HOWEVER
Was very happy to see that they are providing us with a breakdown of what is going on with the game, and I hope they continue to keep us in the loop.
Also, all of you who didn't catch that joke need to gb2wow.

Quote from the latest devblog. I must say, that this is one of the saddest things I have read in a devblog in ages. Instead of doing a serious attempt at fixing lag, you spend lots of resources to develop a gimmicky spacebook thingy that has zero use whatsoever for any organization big enough to have their own forums.
Youre a big dummy. But then youre in Snig so we arent surprised.
Wherever you went - Here you are.

If you can't have a sense of humour about internet spaceships... you must be really boring. If anything it shows how aware they are of the issue.
Humour? I've a sense of it. I can just smell PR disaster and back peddling.

So since theres dedicated team we can finally start expecting all those things that dosent require targeting and shooting like for example:
- Skill que management on browser? - Market order management on browser? - Corporation/alliance chatting on browser? - Infiltrate and dispand hostile alliances?
What i dont need is new facebook clone, give me something usefull instead. Something facebook cant do.

Players: "Website sucks, is outdated and needs development!!! We want ways to check our EVE-Mail from work, ipods and connect to EVE with brain power..."
CCP: "OK, well hire some web developers and see what we can do instead of having our team that usually works on lag developing it."
Players: "I want more immersion in EVE, what if we could walk around in stations? I mean, this is a MMO and right now I lose my internet space exprience because I speak to spaceships"
CCP year 1: "OK, well hire some web developers and see what we can do instead of having our team that usually works on lag developing it."
CCP year 2: "This is quite a larger project than expect, we need to hire more and pull from other resources to get this off the ground."
CCP year 3: "We started working on this thing, and it turned into a massive project. We want it to be really cool so we've hired a lot of people, invested a lot of resources and are now hiring more."
Players: "We've got so many bugs in the game and need things fixed like rockets and the damned catalyst model bugging out, moving windows..."
CCP: "Well, we've done a lot of hiring and shifting of resources around and right now we don't have the resources to shift back. We'll hire more people and see what we can do."
Players: "OMGWTFBBQ I DUN WANNA PLAY A FPSMMO CONSOLE GAME! WHY ARE YOU TAKING FROM MY BELOVED EVE!?!?!? WTF FIX LAG!!!"
Omal Oma: Of the entire development team of EVE-Online, there's 7 people working on this. That's about 6% of their resources invested and they're hiring for more to work on bugs, lag, game enhancements and other projects. Thinking for a second that throwing more cooks into the CCP kitchen will fix this is just not an intelligent way to develop any piece of software. More people = more code = more room for bugs = less checks and balances. The problems that this game has do need to be fixed and past projects do need work, that's also why he said, and I'll repeat this line a few times... for the people who missed it:
Quote:
And thatæs that.
We have an aggressive hiring plan, as evident by our job listings. When those positions are filled we will be able to fully staff two additional EVE feature teams. Finding the right people with the right skills so that they can further enhance something which we have been working on for a decade already isnæt easy, but we have increased the priority on global recruiting. If you or someone you know is interested in working for CCP, now is the time to submit those CVs.

Read that... their hiring more!?
In this economy?

Nope - I got more of a sense of "the community has gotten itself worked up into a frenzy and it might be time to answer the constant, hysterical yelps of, 'why aren't you doing it now, now, now?'" from it.
Either way, the transparency is welcome. We might not agree with everything they're doing but it was great to get a glimpse into the workings of CCP. .

That wasn't unfunny, this is unfunny:
What did the guy tell his wife when he found out he had cancer? I'm dying.
What did the white guy say to the black guy as they passed on the sidewalk? Hello.
How many women does it take to screw in a light bulb? Assuming she doesn't need any special tools or someone to hold a ladder for her, one. Trolls? In my EVE forums? It's more likely than you think...
