Wow...If OP is trolling, first troll to succeed on me. I am truly staggered by the stupidity of anyone who took CCP's comment seriously. I don't know what else to even say...

/thread!!! However, you might want to consider a few things, first of all; I now have one of those annoying sigs. second; you should probably move on to some more interesting things than reading this sig.

Grow up people! It was a joke, and I found it quite funny considering so many people on these forums feels that even the kitchen personell should be put into programming and debugging mode! They are, after all, CCP personell!
I am also a weeny little "le tired" seeing people complaining about I could do better programming, but wont even participate in fleet activity on SIsi. Yes, I know you wont get paid for helping out CCP. I know its not your job. etc. etc. But if you all feel so strongly for all of this, why dont you give a helping hand anyway and have some fun on SiSi at the same time? One or two times wont hurt you, and maybe CCP can solve the fleet problems from it..

Which is obvious. What remains an open question, however, is whether CCP's game programmers possess the proper skill set to be able to "determine, debug, and fix server-side code for MMOs." If they are up to the task -- something most of us are skeptical about -- now would be the time to, you know, prove it. Once lag has successfully been reduced back to pre-Dominion levels, get back to us on that with a new dev blog.

k. If the MMO thing doesn't work out the comedy industry still might be an option.

Well, the easy way to do it would be to shoot everyone who joined the game since Dominion, plus executing a few whining ingrates like you. Should clear that lag right up. -

I got the joke. Sadly, however, I could not even manage a wry smirk, let alone a laugh or a chuckle.

Originally by: Mia McGee Joke or no joke - it still shows that CCP rather use resources on developing new stuff, that is more or less worthless, like PI and EVE GATE, than fixing serious issues that has been haunting the game for ages.
Did you read the CSM notes? Here's a TL;DR

Originally by: Corvac Quote from the latest devblog. I must say, that this is one of the saddest things I have read in a devblog in ages. Instead of doing a serious attempt at fixing lag, you spend lots of resources to develop a gimmicky spacebook thingy that has zero use whatsoever for any organization big enough to have their own forums.
This is one of the saddest responses to a pretty good joke.
TL;DR: Waaa web developers aren't developing my game.

I get it. Wasn't actually funny. Wasn't really the time for a joke.
Eve is basically a web-app like many others that web developers work on around the world.
3D trig for engines, sure not a thing most web people know, playing with client-server code in Eve isn't really a different skill set.
So the joke doesn't even really make sense to start with.
