So I can make my avatar look like a fat red head with shiny skin? THANK GOD FOR THAT \o/
oh I am so syked about this now, I can't wait to have to walk around a station looking at all the other pointless meat sacks humping into each other and "/dancing" everywhere.

Originally by: MC187 unless there's a good purpose for walking around staions, it's just another gimmick that will probably be buggy and include a few patches, database errors, hard drive bloat and shiny new station interior lag.
after playing earth and beyond way back when, i realized that walking around with an avatar isn't all it's cracked up to be.
i'd still rather have fixes and iteration over new features.
And that is my issue with incarna.
This is a spaceship mmo, I fail to see any benefits of walking around in station. --

There can be benefits but only if CCP do a decent job like other space MMOÆs. Like being able to walk around your ship
So I can be walking down a corridor while getting popped at a gate camp as I was on autopilot?
Quote:
invite people to your ship for meetings
so I can get me and a friend popped at a gate camp as I autopilot my self some where?
Quote:
have medals on show
so I can look at medals while getting popped at gate camps?
Quote:
Or better yet do what another MMO lets you do, fight around the ships corridors and rooms. Fight your way to the bridge or to the engine rooms or fight to free a person in the brig.
I heard roumour that that's how starwars online started then they nerfed it to all hell because people whined it was too hard or some such rubbish and went for the quick buck rather than the long game.
Quote:
Imagine a level 4 mission where you have to save the damsel. After disabling the last enemy ship in space combat you board the ship and have to walk around and fight your way to the damsel to recuse her.
Sounds rather dull tbh
Quote:
Or for PvP you have some friends in a shuttle that launch from our ship and board the enemy ship to disable the engines or shields.
So taking down a multi-billion isk titan with a shuttle and a handful of douches sounds like good game balancing?
Or watch as people whine that they keep dieing to being smart bombed as they approach the ship.
Quote:
There could be lots of uses for walking if only CCP would but the effect in and do what the other space MMOÆs have done.
I am yet to hear of any that get any kind of interest out of me. I suppose if they made it so that while in station you could play a tower defence game... that might make me log in more ¼¼
Oh and there's also the fact that pod pilots are supposed to be imersed in goo in a pod while piloting the ship so I guess that's just going out the window?
I still like the fact that I am my ship that I'm flying not "ooo look unconvincing humans"
edit: yes... I'm jaded... well spotted :) --

Right, because EVE is totally centered around PVP...
Missions, mining, manufacturing, exploration, trading.. none of these are a part of EVE at all, no siree!
It started out that way and just as I start getting into pvp it starts getting more and more nerfed.
Also...
Trade is pure PVP you nub, you're trading against other players. The second you realise that and stop just randomly undercutting other players you'll realise it's more fun and actually difficult. --
