He does that by being very smart. He smartbombed like there was no tomorrow, and did enough in each region to win the regional as well :x

Wow. That is awesome. That took some dedication on Sir Phil Macmannon's part!!!! Hope to see some interviews or posts by him about the level of effort!
And great work, yet again, Hel. That has to be a nightmare to organize and pay out.

Gratz to my good friend Phil!! Top effort by a very dedicated player!!
I hope he does post or does an interview with a ISD, but I know he is a shy and retiring type of guy, his ego would never allow him to do this

In many thanks to Helicity for her hard work and amazing market manipulations that she had no part in doing, I've shared some of my profits with her by rounding her bounty to a nice, even 25 million isk. I hope you didn't have it at its previous number for some kind of sentimental value.

I (shadow ballet) claim 1st hulk kill for that bumpy cruiser award thing, unless its deemed as 1st kill on the board not 1st hulk kill, since its vague, in which case no problem bro.

What was the most expensive hulk killed?
(I'm hoping for ours, those faction strip miners sold for 550 mil!)

Thanks Helicity for organizing such an awesome event.
I wish we had more events that spanned such a huge cross-section of the player base. Maybe some day the miners will actually organize something of their own. (it is rather telling that the "untrustworthy" segment of the population have such a huge cooperative undertaking while the "respectable" have nothing that can match hulkageddon's level of organization).
ALSO, thanks to the bounty people. I thought you were only going to give 1 mil IF you killed something, not PER each kill.

Wow. That really is a lot of lovely prizes, i have happily accepted them all!
I did not go out with the intention to win this event, i honestly thought that other corps and alliances would use similar methods and trounce me as a result, but it just didn't happen.
Really though, it is not that hard to do. You just need to have the logistics in place to be able to have your ships and equipment all ready to go in the very best places to go about it. And of course the commitment to be able to sit there for upto 12 hours a day, every day.
I wanted to concentrate on ice miners, so i went about over the course of a week and scouted out every ice field in high sec, rating them, and then placing equipment in the best of those places.
Then it's just a matter of having the alts to scout ahead of you, while you are smartbombing one group, you should already have the next set of targets lined up and then you travel there at once, under gcc, in your pod.
Once you get the method down you should be able to undock again in another ship the second your gcc agro ends. You move in a circular fashion, moving from region to region keeping the momentum moving until you eventually get back to where you started.

He did it because he was the only flopping person that participated who actually took the event seriously. Everybody else was to lazy to go out of their way to kill a hulk. A large percentage of hulk never even knew there was a hulkageddon and the funny thing is, they still don't.
Phils performance was the only one that was on par with my standards, given the amount of people participating phil do the overwhelming majority of the work.
While I openly congratulate him from doing it right I must sharply scold those that participated in this even and failed so dame hard. I am sure helicity will back me up when I say less then 5% of all hulks that were active at any point in time during the event were actually killed.
Such a small and minuscule effect on the hulk population is nothing to be proud of as a group. Many players were not willing to spend the money on the ships and fittings needed to take out hulks effectively. Even still those who could do the job were ever so reluctant to do so because a hulk was more then 12 jumps away. Many people gave up after they had a really low security status.
Let us all hope that next time, more people will take this event seriously. "My name is legion, for we are many" |

I didn't lose because I didnt even participate. Don't be mad at me because I have standards. I just think the event was way overhyped for how small scale it was. "My name is legion, for we are many" |
