Hypocrites the ****ing lot of you.
People complain because they care!
People complain because they don't get things their way.
Haha nice try.
So, let's say your ISP has a custom of doing traffic shaping, they have bandwidth caps, the service drops randomly from time to time and their customer service is inexistant, but just because there is no better ISP on the market you are going to give them a prize as the BEST ISP out there, therefore empowering them and giving them excuses for NOT fixing what is wrong? Good way of thinking you have there Mr. Quell.
We are being asked to vote for the Best MMMO, not for the less crappy one.
If its the only ISP then it cannot be Best. Eve is not the Only MMO. This is not a vote for "Best Sandbox Space MMO" It's best MMO. _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

Hmm lots of whining.
Is somebody going to do something about it?
Organise a few huge fleet fights, the kind of stuff CCP say Tranquility can handle but you know it can't, invite some of those "Reporters" from the gaming news sites (on a trial account) that are taking an interest in this to watch Tranquility die. Record videos of Tranquility in its darkest hour, and post them on Youtube.
Prove to everyone that Tranquility cannot do what CCP say it can do, be loud, be public, show the community and CCP why they should not win this award.
You and/or your Alliance may have the power to end lag this weekend, so, are you going to sit here and whine or do something about it?
Hopefully CCP will be on the ball, and may get some interesting testing data out of the whole... event.
I don't think all the people posting here have the organizational skills to do the above, prove me wrong.
Change often comes through action, rarely through words.
...or sit here and cry pointlessly for the next 18 months, your call.
As much as I hate to end this on a "meme" Proof or STFU & HTFU. |

Ah, I see CCP have decied that this thread will sink quietly out of sight if they unsticky it. Might work if there wasnt a hoarde of unsatisfied players staring at it, dozens of mmo/gaming news sites picking it up, and if eve in general wasnt plagued with lag, node death and unresponsivnessivity...
You cant sink a threadnaught quietly. Wonder how long it will be before they doomsday it and then tell us all their logs show nothing? And how loud will the backlash for THAT be?

Edited by: TheLordofAllandNothing on 02/08/2010 15:21:43 Depends on how long till ccp gives their official stance of either "**** you, we don't care about you old players anymore" or "okay, we give, we will fix stuff"
The negative publicity of eve will only mount as time goes on, and the more we email online news outlets about this, the more it eats into ccps profits.

Yes, they have come a long way. And yes, they have built something incredibly strong. But somewhere along the ride, something changed among them, something that created a bit of a combination of cubicle syndrome and generation gap. With the result of one by one each niche in the game becoming exposed to what until that point was only a marginal symptom.
Interesting observation, and other points well-taken. I suspect that growth, as much as anything, is taking its toll right now. As customers, we have some exposure to the marketing, customer support and operational challenges that the team is facing. Less evident, and ideally totally transparent, to most customers are the organizational, administrative, budgetary, legal and ethical issues that compound with growth. These issues have a tendency to inhibit and distract a team from the creative process. The fact that CCP is continuing to push forward with improvements and enhancements to the game suggests to me that they are doing a good job of overcoming these internal growth challenges.
Separately, it is common for any customer base to voice their issues and concerns much more loudly than their satisfaction with a given service or product. This can take its toll on an organization, especially when administered in extreme doses, as we seem to have going on here and now. We would all do well for the game, the CCP team, and ourselves to take the time to acknowledge the incredible accomplishments made in the game thus far, and perhaps to frame any criticisms that we might have more constructively.
My vote is with EVE.
