Originally by: RutilusUnus CCP we want to play the game. We love this game. We hate the direction of the game though with so many features being abandoned and ignored. Not only that, there are so many bugs with the game and it just feels like the game is going down a spiral where it may not come out of. The "18 month" remark was certainly the last straw. It just is frustrating to see such a great game only go down and down since I started playing, which was right when Apocrypha was released. The game then was so good but now its a mere shadow of what it once was.
Actually Eve is doing pretty damn good looking back on the 5 years I've played. I'm really looking forward to Incarna as well. Sure they bit off a bit more than they could chew, but character avatars will really take the game to the next level, and broaden the potential user base while keeping the core gameplay just as hardcore.
That said, Apocrypha was an AMAZING expansion (those Atlanta guys must have really helped out). If we could get some more expansions with the scope of Apocrypha, Eve would be golden. Personally, I believe CCP set the bar really high with Apocrypha, and they need to keep the future releases on this caliber if they really want to be "Excellent".
I voted for Eve as best European Online game btw, because all said and done nothing comes even close to what Eve has to offer. In a world of microtransactions, level based grinders, and generic fantasy worlds, Eve stands tall for all to marvel at!

I have an idea.
Get the contact details of some of the key investors of CCP,
And send them mass physical mails / emails / telephone call spam about EVE's summer of dis CONTENT.
Looks like CCP will only listen to money.
This thread serves as proof that they do not give a **** about their actual customers.

Considering that the overwhelmingly vast majority of players are in low and high sec enjoying their lag free game on pretty much every level along with a rather decent amount of nullsec non fleet fight players enjoying their non fleet fight content I don't think you have it quite right.

Considering most of those players either mine or run missions, both activities being heavily nerfed in the last expansion, I think he is quite right.

I read this far, then I loled.
I just bought this new car, it doesn't actually bring me where I want, the brakes don't work and the wheels fall off if I drive faster then 20mph but in 18 months they're gonna release this new cover for the back seats with such nice colours... I can't wait!

You, sir/lady/muppet are clueless as can be. Been to low-sec recently apart from macro-hauling? The "lag free game" there you talk about is probably true if you run a macro, as it won't mess much with your "gameplay". Try a small gang encounter with more than a dozen players instead. Once you picked the wrong system... *kazong* ... epic lag on jumping gates and what not. But hey, don't bother checking actual facts or talking to players who actually play this game, keep on trolling!
Makes one really wonder how much CCP pays you monthly to troll us persistently.

News flash - the company you love so much just changed the Sov mechanic a few months ago and made blobbing and large fleets mandatory to be able to take and hold space.
If this were not the case and CCP designed the game so small gang stuff is even half-viable then your arguments might have some merit. This way it just shows you're a stupid fanboi.
Also, in case you haven't noticed yet, CCPs advertisement videos all show large fleet battles and present them as a major part of the game. Not your idiotic level 4s that you run all day (because the crappy excuse for PVE in EVE wouldn't attract anyone that didn't have major brain damage).
The only thing that makes EVE worth anything is the ability to build, defend and fight over large player run empires. Thanks to CCP this is only possible with large fleets.
So don't tell me that the game is working as intended.
Now go back to Motsu and let the grown-ups talk.

Posted at another place yesterday by a 5 year vet cancelling 4 accounts (you will have met him and friends on the motsu gate on occasion if you were flying something special):
Quote: I'm not drunk :p I'm just fed up with the game...
the state it's in...
how I can lag out on a gate with 1 person in local...
how I get a jump queue when going in to an empty system...
how I can engage warp and then 10 seconds later be in a station even when I saw the warp tunnel...
how I can take a 150 man fleet and take over 1.5 hours to travel 8 jumps in 0.0....
That CCP say they wont even LOOK at fixing stuff for 18 months... that (ok the CSM is a joke, we knew that) they ignore the CSM, brush them side etc...
how they snipe at people on the forums....
How when people raise proper threads, they're ignored but someone posts a "lol how long u been playing", all of a sudden 30 Devs come out the woodwork and reply within 30 minutes...
How they leave unfinished feature after unfinished feature for YEARS ON END. It's been over HALF A ****ING DECADE and there's still some of the smallest and simplist bugs in this game and they *do not give a *****. They just focus on more and more "shiney" and it's not even that shiney. There is no "wait for the next patch" - I've been doing that for 12 god damned patches. CCP clearly do not give a **** about this game any more. I don't care if individual devs themselves do, but whoever's in charge don't care - this game has been degenerating for years and in the last 6 months it's been a god damned avalanche of CCP gaff after gaff and they do not care.
They then have the audacity to post a "vote for eve cos we're super awsome" thread which backfired magnificiently btw... I am clearly not the only one but tbh enough is enough for me. There's only so much each of us is willing to take and I've reached it. I'm not taking "A STAND AGAINST THE MAN" here - I've just had enough of this ****. It's never going to get better. It's 18 months until they begin to even look at this **** let alone go about fixing it. **** that. And **** this game.
Last night I thought Eve was gonna die in about 2 years. This morning I think it will be quicker.

I have to agree that this is very annoying. Also the wisecracks that aren't really funny in threads where upset people are posting concerns about the game don't exactly help.

I notice there's job openings in some of CCPs offices, the only things i can bring to the table are some great game play ideas and common sense, unfortunately i lack any advanced programming skills or previous experience in the gaming industry. Think i could get in with just some smart ideas? ----------------------

Past events say they'll take anyone willing to take the job, **** pay and not many willing to move to iceland means they kinda have to take whoever shows up first.

The Newcastle office might be a good place to work because when/if CCP/Dust goes under, there'll be an experienced 3D engine team that can be bought/sold/enslaved etc.
As for working for CCP Iceland goes, a lot of those job openings have been there for a very long time. I think it's probably pretty hard to get good people in a tiny, isolated country of only 320k people which has just suffered a complete financial collapse and where the pay is probably pretty poor by European or US standards.

Assuming current employment or the offer of employment elsewhere, what makes EVE a great product on which to work and CCP a great employer? For all of the issues that we, as players, face with the client, with the server and with inane forum moderators, there are likely plenty of hard-worked, mismanaged and frustrated CCP employees.
CCP is still a relatively young and immature company that has only just recently ballooned up in size to where they can consider addressing multiple projects. Their internal project management, execution, testing and roll-out methodologies are still being worked out as the last two EVE "expansions" proved. Apocrypha 1.5, as good as an expansion as it turned out to be, is well over a year old in its execution. What followed more recently with Dominion and Tyrannis is the epitome of half-baked planning and testing with a dash of internal politics thrown into the mix. The current CCP work environment is putting out mediocre product.
Whether the jobs are in Iceland, the UK, the USA, China or India (QA outsourcing), they put a person in the mix of a volatile and immature project management environment that appears to still be figuring itself out.
If a prospective employee has been HTFU in other project management and development jobs, then he or she has a chance. Otherwise, fresh meat entering into the "Scrum" may find themselves with a sore bottom and an irate playerbase [undeservedly] as CCP's upper level management have so far isolated themselves from recent **** storms.
In summary, be very careful when considering employment with an entity that is currently going through growing pains, recently releasing mediocre product and poorly managing its customer relationships.
Just sayin.

I've seriously given this some thought, and besides the fact that I'd need to relocate, what with all this involves for me and my family, there's one simple thing that stops me from pushing the button right now.
If I was to work for CCP, I want to work on EVE.
Tell me once again, how many of CCP's developers are working on EVE?
