Quit crying over lag, I have no sympathy!
The attendance to the mass tests to find this elusive lag has been abysmal, so you only have your selves to blame, after all it can't be that bad if can't even be be bothered to help CCP reproduce the problem & find the cause on the test server.
If you disagree, instead of crying a river of tears on the forum, HTFU, prove me wrong and join the mass test on Thursday.

Haha **** you. We pay for a service, we don't pay to work for CCP. In no way is it the players' fault that lag hasn't been fixed, and if CCP were that commited to fixing it they would have hired some actual professionals to look into this, instead of begging their paying cutomers to do the work for them.

I will try to make it this time. Though last time I tried, Sisi client completely froze my computer - and I don't really feel like messing with an unnecessary computer problem after work.

My theory is the lag is database related. The lag got really bad after they 'upgraded' the database. How much longer until the old republic is released? --

You want me to be your QA department? For Free? I do QA for a living. I get paid to do my job and find and report issues. I look at this game and the company that produces it and laugh my ass off at some of the incompetence and poor planning.

Heh the test server is gonna be full of bugs that's what its for. they prob don't have the resources to test it on a large scale so not only let players try things out before there release, more people = more bug reports = better data to make fix's. Well I posted something, You will prob disagree. But its my opinion SO keep it to yer self.

Edited by: Robdon on 03/08/2010 14:26:35 Just been onto the test server...
The UI is still very screwed up and not working well, with bugs all over the place.
Are they really expecting to get decent tests out of the test on Thursday with the client in this state?
Simple stuff like the Overview still isnt working :(
I'm not sure how they are gonna have any kind of fleet fight with it in this state.

No he isnt, but you sound like you are.
Do any of the ' I pay for this already' crowd actually think for more than two seconds about anything other than themselves? Do any of you actually realise that maybe its the only way CCP can get enough meaningful information to make the fix you keep bleating about?

EVE Forums - "CCP fix lag nao"
CCP - "Okay, can you come give us a hand with this?"
EVE Forums - "No, I want the magical faeries to fix it this instant!"
CCP - "That's not how it works, see, we just need to get a more accurate look at the issue in a contro-"
EVE Forums - "Faeries, now."

Perhaps if they ran the tests at different times they would get more people attending.
20:00 UTC is 21:00 UK time, I'm uk based and start work at 07:00 so I'm up for 05:00, so 21:00 start times are useless for me, the last one I tried to attend was a few months ago and was all ready and waiting and nothing happened, or at least nothing happened until at least 21:30 uk time, so I had about 30 mins left before pc's get switched off for the night.
imho the test server is a horrible atmosphere, full of people enlarging their epeen and having no consequences apart from maybe a temporary ban, they need to clamp down on these and give a scaling ban system, you get banned 1st time for a couple of months, then if you're a repeat offender then increase the ban.
Plus they don't handle mirrors properly, they're not frequent enough from tq to sisi so people end up with well out of date characters on sisi so don't bother using it.
So lose the attitude and stop blaming people for not attending the sisi test on thursday, maybe if ccp got their act together and handled the test server better then more people would use it, have regular mirrors, surely it's not beyond the realms of possibility that they have something on the database that the user can tick in their character sheet so the data isn't overwritten on sisi so you could set different skills in training on sisi, or as others have suggested, now the skill point allocation system is in place, give people a boat load of skill points available so they could jump onto sisi and train some skills up.
I'll admit that I use sisi more for testing personal stuff out, ship fittings etc rather than bug hunting, but I've sent the odd one in before so I'm not totally lazy.

So you think I should take time off a paying job and lose money to help CCP fix the game. Sounds like your priorities are a bit different then mine. I'm sorry I think of my job 1st and game later on down the list. If CCP wants me to hire me so I can help them test their software and leave my current job then thats another story.
Seems like weekends would be a better time to test like they have done before. Well better for selfish old me and maybe others.

Testing on test server for lag instead of live server is like testing for overcrowding in Chinese neighborhood instead of China.
If CCP wants to fix the lag, they need to test or observe on live server when the large fleet fights are happening. They will never be able to duplicate the tests on test server with only couple thousand players on it compared to 30-40K players on live server while the big fights are happening. Just go and observe the big fights when you get a node upgrade request from the participants and run youÆre testing there and then. Maybe then youÆll have some true live data to help you with the lag. Otherwise, the tests wonÆt be worth crap and the issues will continue to appear on the live server while they are working properly on test server.

I'll be there for an hour or two. I was in on page one of not voting for the award because CCP aren't doing enough for the core parts of the game. Only fair that since I'll be available anyway, I pop in. This balances my karma and I can join another threadnaught at a later date.
