Walking in stations will be like PI. A shallow sub-game done for marketing purposes more than gameplay.
You want to build a game based on making money CCP then try faction warfare - pirate edition.

CCP,
Stay the course. Remember that the forums are only viewed by a small loud and biased minority that does not represent the entire Eve population. If you have doubts on whether people are interested in WIS then run a poll IN-GAME that includes everyone. Perhaps send every account an evemail with a couple questions.

It is unlikely the station authorities would allow for such events. Besides once you leave your pod you are basicly naked with no weapons at hand. |

All these kiddies here shouting:"we don't want that!"
If you want to pvp. Do it. Other players might love PI or walking in stations. Your not the only kind of player in this game. The power of EVE is that there is something for everyone. You are not forced to try industrial side of EVE or the roleplaying side.
Btw....it does seem most of the posters here are people that have to much time on their hands and most of the time PVP'ers. A know issue with these type of players is that they have the attention span of a fly and always have the need to let eveyone know what they think.

If Incarna is indeed a "Beta Test for WoD online", then work on it faster please! WoD is awesome, can't wait to have it online.
That said, I agree with Vexion. There's more players in this game than zero-space-blob-fighters. I think lots of players actually enjoy exploring and PI and stuff.
It's probably true as well that those players like playing Eve more than whining on forums about lag, and thus won't be heard as much. I also think CCP is fully aware of this, and takes all the "INCARNA SUCKS - DUST SUCKS - PI SUCKS - WAAAAAAAH!" threads with a grain of salt. I also think they are right in doing so.
A little elaboration: I do feel that all Eve experience should be maximized (after reading about relatively good working 0.0 fights in the past), so that goes as well for the blob-fighters. Just, PLEASE, don't think you're the only ones in Eve. Selfish feckers.

kiddies? I think not. If you want to make a counter point, make it, but dont resort to being insulting to others with different opinions.
I been playing this game since beta, I have saw the gradual decline of added functionality being only half-baked or sub standard. This is not in my mind because I want to PvP, I want to do PI, I want to walk in stations. However, we all know that recently CCP has been letting things slip and not paying attention to detail as they once did. All I ask is that they get back to making Eve with quality in mind.
Walking in stations given what I had read of it will certainly not be a game that any mass amount of people will want to play as a sub-game just like PI. If you want to walk around trying on new clothes then play Sims online or something, its much more functional than what is planned for Eve.
I just hate to see the quality of what is Eve right now being ignored to do something like walking in stations. I could make a huge list of the half baked unfinished projects in Eve right now which could make Eve be so much better and much less development work than WIS as the system is already mostly implemented.

Finally presented well.
Thanyou.
I still believe that you and the rest are correct that resources are not being utilized fully into eve "space". I also believe that the other developments are vital to CCP growing, regardless if 500 people emorage quit.
They will redirect those devs back to addressing concerns some of you have. Question is, if you have been playing for 6+ years im fairly sure you can wait a bit longer to both see all the new content AND how CCP will address lag/pos/PI etc concerns. |

Hey guys, Yes, I was bored at work yesterday. Yes, I was trolling. Yes, I used a couple of my accounts to post comments. Yes, I have seen many topics in the forums about this.
Now for a serious statement.
A vote, like the CSM Council process, does sound like a good idea for CCP to select items/features to focus their programming efforts.

I completely agree with this player. The only way to know what an individual player wants is to ask them personally. I'll go ahead and give my input. I want and will always want the complete scifi experience.

You have managed to run this excellent game for over 7 years attracting subscribers on a daily basis. Don't let this vocal minority convince you otherwise.

Personally, I dont care what they add...I just want the game fixed and the new content to be done well. I pay for a quality product...I want a quality product, simple as that. It isn't an unreasonable thing to want.

Now sitting in stations in a bar whilst a superbly rendered and animated provocatively clad minmatar female dances on my bar table as I transfer assets around my trade empire I do care about.

Edited by: Jennifer Fenring on 05/08/2010 21:04:21 Honestly I don't understand why people don't want to get out of their pod every once in a while. It may be handy to control your ship floating inside some slimy substance but really, sometimes you have to feel human again, get dressed to strech your legs and have a little stroll.
Preferably inside stations.

If you really believe that drivel then CCP's marketing people have succeeded.
Incarna has NOTHING to do with EVE. The primary reason EVE is getting it forced upon it, is so we can pay to be beta testers for the software for World Of Darkness MMO, everything else is just fluff designed to make people believe it's for the betterment of EVE itself, and to appease the "ooh, shiny" crowd.
You do like paying to be a beta tester, don't you... ?
EDIT - Spelling
If you believe that Incarna is nothing more than a WoD beta then you win the award from coming up with the most expensive way to host a beta program. I don't doubt they they will use the technology over and try to kill two birds with one stone. But Incarna will be much more than just walking around, chatting and testing a new VR engine.
It is a vehicle to draw in new customers.

Your talking to people who probably don't do that much after 4 hours in front of their computer. It shouldn't be hard to imagine why the concept is so foreign to so many.
