Im looking at getting into a Gila as it will complement my missle skills and looks like a good exploration ship. Vexor for low sec stuff...
I dont want this a fitting thread but would welcome setup ideas and why you use it this way.
Im concerned about missing sigs, would i need a rigs that helps with scanning on my ships.

Whatever drones you want, passive hardeners for the cap stability fit according to damage obviously. It would probably be smart to remove one of the HML for a cloaking device for lowsec.
And for the Ishtar This Setupwould work very well i suppose.

Of course this works way better.... Resist to local rats. You can rig for scanning at a dps loss.

Thanks guys I have it setup close to what you have. I did add a scan rig in place of the sheild rig. This ship has an awsome tank and suits me very good. Its close to the price on the Ishtar and I really wouldnt have to spend time training up for that.
Any other comments on fitting the Gila welcomed.

Well theres really not all that much to add. You can swith out the HML's to Assault Launchers for hisec, since you get to fight cruisers and lower there, the dps loss is minimal and the range pretty much the same. Imho the Gila or anything comparable is total overkill in hisec, Assault frigs do the job as well.
Also, you probably can downgrade the tank for some more cap to play with, not like you need it anyway.

What sites do you run? Seriously, most DED 4s have Battlecruisers. A Gurista Vigil will easily pop one or maybe two battle ships. I've even seen Radar sites with one or two battleships in hi sec. Now I'm not saying these would test his tank, but it's good to be prepared to cover these encounters DPS wise.

I agree its overkill but I will enjoy using it passive tank in the 4/10s...
