What do you guys think about creating a ship designed especially for transporting large amounts of PI products, and yes I am fully aware of the existence of the Primae type vessel yet here I'm talking about a larger vessel. Something comparable to the Orca but with cargo-bays dedicated to PI stuff and command centers just like a Primae but bigger. And i think that the ship shouldn't be as big as an Orca (thus faster and more agile than the aforementioned slow beast), there's no need for a corp hangar just about 5k m3 of normal cargo-bay and let's say 50k m3 cargo-bay dedicated to PI stuff and another 5k m3 for the command centers.
What do you think about it?

Would be a cool implementation, I'm sure the many hardcore PI peeps would appreciate that kinda ship, I like the primae but it's too small for the larger PI stuff.

I think it is a great idea, though perhaps more space for command centers, once you get up to elites they can take up a fair amount of room. Knowledge is power. Power corrupts. Study hard. Be evil. |

There are enough industrial ships for hauling. No need to make a ship that only has use in a small area of Eve.
I had planned on using them to fix fleet lag but was talked out of it. -CCP Zulu |

heres an idea to make making a new indy worth while, it can land on the planet, You would need a lanuch pad for this. you warp to within 0 of the planet and right click the "land" option, after 15 or so seconds your ship disapears and you can move cargo as you need between your launch pad/s as needed, you then click "take off" and after again 15 or so seconds your ship reapears next to the planet.
would give PI people a little more security when going to all there coloneys and provide a reasion for a PI only indy to exist.

I really like the option of landing on planets, that would mean no more export tax, it may seem that its not a lot with 3 ISK/unit ratio, but believe me, its quite a large sum when you transport hundreds of thousands of items per day. Plus landing on planets would leave room for future development, for example getting out of the ship on a planet. :)

Picking up the materials is very safe already, the window of vulnerability is very small in practice.
Flying around in your hauler for PI in low security space is the bottleneck which needs to be adjusted for game balance. This could be done by introducing blockade runner type hauling with larger cargospace.
A dedicated hauler ship is a bad idea, because it would be too specific. If it's a large hauler the lowsec people complain because it's useless - if it's a nimble small hauler the hisec people complain because they get nothing.
It could be a special type of cargo can which compresses planetary products. Or maybe the command centers, but I'm fine with the command centers because you only need to transport them once, and also only dedicated people have the big capacity for greater iskies.
The primae is a good idea. But it failed because it's not capable enough - if it was somewhat more agile, it could be a good carrot for new people to operate in lowsec, but us veteran players would still prefer our more capable blockade runners.
