All trolling aside, WTZ is a common thing in EVE. I do it all the time and I see lots of other players zipping past me at gates doing the same.
So why does CCP treat this like it's some kind of special gift by not implementing an auto-WTZ?
I mean, sure the gate campers will hate it but seriously...it saves time when traveling.
Where is the challenge in the extra mouse clicks to achieve WTZ? If anything, it's annoying as hell, and what is the point of warping at breakneck speed to a gate only to jump out short of it and slow boat the rest of the way to it? It just doesn't make any sense to me.
Yes, yes, I know about the history of bookmarks and how CCP implemented WTZ to get rid of them...but it still doesn't explain why or how it takes from the game not to have an auto-WTZ.

I'm sorry that you have to actually sit at the game to play it to maximum efficiency. Maybe you should be thankful that they even *have* a way to play the game AFK, albeit at a reduced efficiency.

There seems to be some sort of sadistic nature to Eve's design where they put game mechanics in to a game for 'demi gods' or whatever, to do stupid jobs like mining or sit at your computer to WTZ. I think Norse Mythology had a god of opening doors for people and they just cant get that kind of thinking out of their heads.

It has been stated a thousand times.
If you are @ your computer you can warp to zero. IF you are AFK you get warp to 15 km.
It is that simple.

WTZ is a 'reward' for sitting at the keyboard navigating. It means that (in high-sec, at least) you're almost uncatchable as you move to a new gate.
If you want to autopilot, you run the risk of being ganked when you are slowboating the 15km to the gate.
It's the "risk vs reward" thing. WTZ is a reward, autopilot is a risk.
Complicated stuff, obviously. .

Actually it's kind'a stupid. So just traveling from gate to gate is considered game-play? Pretty lame IMO.

Once again, you miss the point. YOU traveling to the gate isn't considered game-play, necessarily, but giving gankers a chance to get people that can't be bothered to sit at their PC and fly manually, that IS considered gameplay.
Again, risk vs reward. .

Give Eve a different graphical interface... say the Southern US in the 1800's, and think about what shoes you would be wearing with this game design, if you are wearing shoes.

So by this logic all those PI players that are complaining about the "clickfest" are just out of luck because CCP wants you to be at your keyboard for everything...right?

this. If that were considered gameplay then me walking from my computer while i autopilot upstairs to make a sandwich is a game too, along with my morning commute on the train (lol but if i fall asleep on the train its afk autopilot and the train drops me off 3 stops too early and i have to walk the rest of the way). I can't figure out if you're deliberately obtuse to be a troll, or you're just very, very dimwitted but the two things aren't related. .

Of course they are:
clicky-click = reward
non-clicky-click = risk of no-reward.

It is if at points A1, A2 à B-1, you run the risk of getting blown upà
The mere act of using WTZ proves that there is a gameplay element there, or you wouldn't use it. For the time when A to B is not gameplay, you have the autopilot, which will take you there with minimum fuss. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

WTZ or not WTZ on AP - it's completely arbitrary. CCP wants it, some players seem to love it, others don't. I don't.
If WTZ on AP had always been there no-one would have thought it was ridiculous and given it a second thought at all. It's not all that strange.

Hrmmm, I read the op a few times to make some sense of it and can only figure that he doesn't want the autopilot to use the wtz mechnic but would like a new ui element to 'manually' travel the autopilot route without having to select the gate and hit the warp button each time. Just press it and you wtz to the next gate in the route and jump. Once the grid loads you press it again until you get to where you are going.
This keeps you at the keyboard but takes a bunch of clicks out of the process. As long as it is not bindable to a keyboard shortcut and only works with mouse clicks it should be fairly abuse proof unless you are using some sort of macro program but meh nothing stopping anyone from doing that now. As far as the effects of making travel in the game even easier well I will let you guys debate that.
