First and foremost, I'd like to apologize for my abrupt leaving earlier in the year. Some stuff came up in the RL that took priority and I needed the time to work stuff out, but it's taken care of and I'm happy to announce that the show will be airing again later in the week. I'm waiting on a paycheck to clear to purchase the domain I will be using for the show. I expect this to be taken care of before the weekend. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the show, it is an Economics Podcast providing a very general overview of the status of the market every morning, usually posted sometime during downtime. Every weekend we did an 'extended' show, going into greater detail on Market news. The first weekend show will be on the QEN Q2. The Second, which is going to be posted on the weekend of the 28th, will kick off the interview shows. I'm looking for knowledgeable, mature, and preferably objective MDers to join me on a discussion panel. Requirements for joining the discussion panel: Fluent English Speaker 18 Years or older Prior Work. This means a blog or similar publication, or demonstrable market knowledge. Skype. This is non-negotiable. I have found Skype to be the easiest method of conference-calling and recording them. I hate to be a ** about it, but it's the method I use and know. Availability on Saturdays at 16:00 Eve Time (That's 11:00 am EST, my local time) Those of you who are interested, please contact me in-game with these details: First name. Skype Username Some of your prior work, or examples of demonstrated market knowledge Any other information you feel is pertinent. Advertising Advertising will be slightly different than before. Spots will be open on a daily basis, for an as-of-yet undecided amount per spot per day. These will be on a first-come, first-serve basis, and will be open for corporations and players alike. Advertise your corp, recruitment, or wish your friend a happy birthday, it's your money, it's up to you. Vulgarity, flaming, advertisements of scams, Illegitimate ISK sale, and/or anything that would jeopardize the Terms of Service or EULA will not be refunded. Period. I will be putting a Calender up on the website designating available spots on specific days. For now, I will keep track of them here.** To reserve a spot, follow this process: Send me the amount. Though I could hear everything clearly.... There's one spot where I'm talking as the music is turning down, it's mindless no-information that I'm spewing at that point, not ultra important. Other than that I don't seem to have a problem hearing voice vs. music, but I'll bump the ratio up a little more in favor of mine.

I actually had the idea of doing a sort of 'yesterday in MD' segment. I may do one or two test runs to gauge just how much work is involved in addition to getting prices and whatnots. I posted a comment on the site, but here's what I wrote in it: Recommend tracking the following planetary commodities: * All 15 P1′s * The POS fuel PC's (oxygen, enriched uranium, mech parts, robotics) * All 8 P4′s * Maybe some of the other P2′s and P3′s used a lot in other industrial uses like rocket fuel. I run a corp that makes POS components from scratch, and reading off all the P2′s doesnÆt make a lot of sense to me. Something else you may consider is instead of P4′s: read off the four main tower prices. The vast majority of P3′s and P4′s go into POS structures anyway and itÆs a great indicator of the overall PI economy. Hope to tune in each morning for the report!

You can check out all the prices yourself, I think the core items he mentioned were definitely good enough. He read off all 24 P2's today if I'm not mistaken. There's 15 P1's, 8 P4's (4 towers), and there's only 3 other commodities that are POS fuel. So give or take it's the same amount, just more enlightening IMO.

Regarding PI materials, I suggest a tradeoff: An Index, not a Basket. For Minerals/Ice/Moon, a 'Basket' setup worked pretty well since there were few enough of them, and all of them had direct impact on production in a reasonably equal way. For PI, only certain materials have direct impact: -> POS Fuel Commodities -> T2 Blueprint Commodities (in particular, Robotics) -> P4 (POS Blueprint) Commodities -> Nanite Paste Commodities The most efficient way to present PI's impact (currently) would be as a 'consumption Index' for a Large POS (choose the Caldari one if that matters any, its the ubiquitous choice for T2 reactions). The price of POS and components should probably be held off, while we deal with the 'pre-nerf' (though that itself would probably make a nice weekend discussion ).

When you use price lists I agree with previous posters, use an index rather than each individual prices. e.g. cost of fuel for a large tower for one day rather than each item. I devised some PI Price indexes spreadsheets last week, Feel free to use them as is or adapt them to make new indexes.

Indexes, along with biggest movers per sector plus any other large changes, would cut down on a lot of clutter and offer insight. Maybe have certain days of the week where complete lists are rattled off with their weekly change to add flavor. But I did get a good tip from P2 prices yesterday. I'm normally only concerned with P1's and POS structure prices, so when I was listening to the show, I actually had to go check up on superconductors.

Back in it's first run, I did post graphs of all the stuff I mentioned, but I'm working with a much higher number of product, so I'm not sure how viable that would be for that. For right now, the show will stay the same way while I get the other things ready to go. Expansion The show will never be finished growing. I have goals set for it -- specifically in that I will be expanding the show exponentially over the course of the rest of the year. It's going to be a slow process, but it will be worth it. For now, sustainability is priority 1. Here's what I have in mind: Daily forum updates -- What's being discussed on MD? Expansion to include information geared to manufacturers, scientists, and other S&Iers. Full-fledged weekend reports including a discussion panel. Discussions including weekly forum topic 'roundups', news from CCP, etc.[/b] Discussion of in-game news as posted by Interstellar Correspondants with analytics, commentary, and opposing opinions, should they be applicable. Bond, IPO, and Loan tracking. Who's paying (or not), when, and to who. Please be aware that this list is tentative, subject to change or nothing at all. Of these list items, I must address a couple. Firstly, I have kept a thread up over on S&I regarding what they would like to see on the show. I will continue updating this thread periodically to ensure I get a reasonable amount of user in put. Secondly, the Interstellar Correspondants would be treated as a news wire, rather than a news agency. Inasmuch that they behave like a network of their own, their ability to post in-character reports is valuable, and the reading and discussion of such stories and how they would affect the player would add a level of depth that the show has yet to achieve. Thirdly, and most importantly, the Weekend Reports. Those of you who listened during our first 'season' will remember that every weekend, LaVistaVista, Hexxx and I would discuss the economic news of the week. As times have changed, they are no longer available for such a show; so I am looking for a small number (3 MAXIMUM) of well-educated, well-informed, fluent english speakers to join me every saturday to acomplish the same task. Skype will be used to conduct these dsicussions, as it is the easiest way to record with a modi****of quality (internet media being what it is). If you're interested, feel your qualified, and are willing to put the time in on a regular basis (roughly 2 hours), please EVE-mail me with the following information: First name. I'd like to assure everyone that the project is NOT dying. If you're following the feed, you'll know that I've been having issues with the microphone that I've been using. I've spent the last couple days doing some research on what sort of equipment I should get, and I'm going for the big guns. This means that I will not be purchasing any sort of permanent microphone for use on the show. My interest in Podcasting continues to grow; I have ideas for other shows, so I figure it's about time to really invest in the hobby. I will be putting some money away for a studio-quality set of equipment, that means mixer board, sexeh microphone, spider mount, and silent desk boom. These things ain't cheap, so it will be a while before I have the funds (totaling somewhere around 560). I hate having to write stuff like this because I feel that I'm letting you all down, but at the same time, I can imagine how shaky the viability of the project looks. I let this thing die once before, and I'm not going to let it happen again, this is my promise to you. I also enquired as to where he gets his prices; with a view to perhaps offering some assistance. It would be a small matter with the right specifications to create a sheet that automatically collected the "correct" prices and did some very minor analysis; things like a price being a 50day low, etc. I could also have this sheet produce output that you could just read, along the lines of "Today the advanced material index hit "x".
