Edited by: Pottsey on 25/12/2004 22:19:35 Having not seen anyone break the old record in over 6 months I decided itĘs time to try and beat it. After many hours in the cargo bay fitting and unfitting modules and doing custom tweakĘs I managed to get my cargo ship down to 38 seconds passive charge but hardly an improvement over the last record 1 second faster. But it was fun watching shields go from 0% shields to full power in 38 seconds. Next onto my Battleship. My aim was to break 100 seconds which as far as I know has never been done before. The last record I am aware of is 101 seconds.
At this point I manage do get a few onlookers who happen to pass by the docking bay. Not to sure if the look on there face was being impressed or thinking I was crazy anyway after fitting various modules I ran out of parts so off shopping I went. To cut a long story short I managed to get an 87 seconds shield recharge rate on the Battleship. Wow better then I dreamed off. My aim was 100 seconds I thought 99 seconds would be the best I could do. Mind you I had to divert half of life support to get my shields to maintain that speed.
Note: This was purely for fun I donĘt use the full shield recharge setup for anything practical it was just to do something different and see just how fast it can go. Now I just need someone to sell me that 5% shield recharge implant and some T2 low slot modules. Anyone got any for sale? I will pay millions per module/implant.

Well that would be cool if you can harden the shields at the same time. 100 seconds is a lot of torps coming your way. And if its setup to tank you and has some damage modifiers? Figure in 6k shields/100 seconds = 60 shields per second. Most any BS can keep up way more damage than that.
Your looking at with decent setup - bout 70 torps X 700+ damage each = 49k damage headed at you. Ouch!
Blasterthron - 100-900 dam/per second + Drones. Tempest - lol - youd be pwned just too fast. Apoc/Geddon - can you say bubye?

You must be really excited about those new implants that came out recently, that offer reductions in shield recharge rate...

Your just too uber pottsey.
But for my own money, I've gotten my ferox up to the point where with hardeners, passive hardeners, and plenty of shield flux coils and the like, I do not lose shields, period, during agent missions, unless I feel very bold (i.e. charging) ---
