I read this before "lunch", it sounded interesting (I am originally an archaeologist after all =))and it kept naging all throughout the break. What about starting an EVE History Project?
It might be interesting - not only because others, like the OP, might be interested in the history of 0.0 (it's actually what keeps me in-game, and now in a 0.0 alliance) - but also because so much of EVE is player driven. It might be interesting for people, even outside of EVE, to know the history of a (almost) purely player-driven game.
The CCP "lore" or "background" can be found easily enough on the site, and in the future when EVE is no more (horrid thought) or through CCP the company.
But what the players create - given free hands in shaping the "history" and of a game - will be permanently gone, or maybe with luck, can be labourisly pieced together through blogs and whatever is out there - if they are still out there when EVE ends. The EVE History Project would save the player created achievements.

Aye, possibly. But a technical log (pixel [coordinate] to [coordinate]) wouldn't be to interesting. And there's a cut off date somewhere. Keeping a log of *all* activity in 0.0 since years bag, would be horrendously large (or not, but I think so). A history based on technical raw data isn't useful =(

I'll see what time I might have to spend on it - as said here already, it's maybe not an endevour for one person while playing the game and having other RL obligations as well.

Yeah, I saw that - very nice one, with lots of info in the thread.
So ... I'll try to start something. I'm leaving for east africa in roughly a week, but in the first half of october I'll try to post something here or in a more appropriate forum.
Anyone else feeling up to do a bit of EVE history research mail me in-game (we are two with interest but not all that much time at the moment) =)
