Quote: I'm not exactly sure of your 'thought process' here. What are you responding to?
Quote: Er... That thing 9 years ago had nothing whatsoever to do with democracy. It was either an attack by terrorists who are on a jihad against the US and/or capitalism, or an attempt by a government to pass some quite fascistic laws. Either way it was used as an excuse to reboot the weed plantations in Afghanistan and take some Iraqi oil.
Democracy at work though maybe?
Also, it mostly rocked the US, all it did everywhere else was be inconvenient to airline passengers.
Hey, you two...are you incapable of reading and understanding the OP? This memorial thread has nothing to do with September 11th, 2001.
If you'd bothered reading the OP properly, you wouldn't have had to read this.
e: just wanted to add how insensitive I think you are for not having digested the topic at hand properly. ---

We remember you, Salvador Allende and the brief flowering that was democratic Chile in 1973. Shame on you Mr. Pinochet, shame on you indeed.

Never forget that US of A butchered tens to hundred of thousands of innocent civilians in Iraq too.
USA have a long dark history of killing innocent. Both in Vietnam and Iraq, and many other places around the world. Plus dropping two atomic bombs over civilian cities as retailiation for attacking millitary targets.
Too blind with "AMERIKA SUX" emorage to even read the OP and recognize its subtle cleverness. Appalling ****s.
It's just another day, a ****ty day for some, but just a day. The blood of countless men covers every day of the calendar, time just renders some of those days more significant than others because of the transience of our lives and our incredibly narrow and limited perspective. In 1000 years it will be another footnote in history. Humans love killing other humans, always have, always will. We will never coexist. Get used to it.

The bolded part is where I stopped supporting your sentiment. We can not passively accept the facts that you presented. Call my ideological, but I believe that at some point it may be feasible for the worldÆs population to coexist.

I agree. However, I fear there are too much egocentric reasons out there to make this possible. It might have been possible if all nations where of equal size, but when some nations have veto in the UN to use as they see fit, plus millitary power to overrule everyone else when they see fit, the world will sooner or later go up in flames, if two of those superpower nations collide.
Soviet vs USA is one such thing, but they decided to use puppets to avoid direct contacts, and as such Vietnam and Korea where turned into battlefields where these superpowers controlled their chess (nation) pieces. I guess its "better" this way than direct contact, which we see over the Cuba crisis where these to nations almost sent the whole world to hell over their ideological quarrels.

LOL at the atomic bombs seriously. Far more people died in places like Dresden which if I remember history correctly the RAF helped with. the Nukes where the first real use of "Shock & Awe" but incindery bombing by the allies as a whole killed far more people per city.
But WW2 was a state of what is called "Total War" which means that everything is a war target because everything is adding to the effort
He forgot to mention the long dark history of EUROPE and ASIA in killing millions and millions and millions of people across the world for the last 1,500 years or so.
Everybody is killing everybody and lying about why.
This is why I would give everybody on the planet a battle rifle and teach them how to use it.
That and a copy of "Our Enemy the State" by Albert Jay Nock. (throw in some Rothbard and Mises later if the person was a good shot)
"but....but... people will get shot" the hand-wringers will say.

Humans Kill Humans, it is that simple. we as a race will never get along. because we will always find something to fight over. if we solve our problems here on earth, we will colonize space and then space colonies will fight each other over space resources and planets.

Why not? The blind people like yourself are in this thread, so why not the people who are awake as well? Maybe you can learn something. If you only wanted to.
You have to be a moron to believe the official story of what happened on 9/11. It really is THAT dumb. Its actually the dumbest thing Ive ever had the opportunity to hear from a government on this planet. And people believe it. What is wrong with this picture...
You guys can call the truthers nutters and tinfoil hatters if you want, but the reality of it is that its only making you look like morons for:
1) Not recognizing that the official story is impossible 2) Pointing the finger at people who are smarter than you and thinking they are dumber

The systems are designed to breed conflict of interest, and they are doing it very well. From day 1 you are picking sides and thinking of the other side as the enemy. People are unaware of this, and think its the way things must be and always will be. But they are wrong. 99.99999% of people in the world want nothing but peace. The others want wars for the profits and power it generates for themselves.
If only people would recognize how they are being manipulated into wars.
Start with realizing that your perception of the world is your experience in the world. Its relative to you and not everybody else. Change your perception and you change your experience in the world.

For once, stay on topic please
I do not want this remembrance thread to degenerate into a political trollfest.
I would appreciate it if you would show your respect for the events in Chile on the 11th September, 1973 and nothing else. As you know, OOPE threads that discuss politics or religion are against the rules and I do not want this thread to break the rules.
So, please, show your thoughts of remembrance o7 ---

Coexistance is what got us to the top of the food chain on this planet.
Compared to other species, humans are lousy hunters, even with all their tools and weapons that one man can't even build alone and from scratch. We have been coexisting for millions of years, and we will continue to do so or die out.
The question is whether we can defeat that parasite that has been infecting our society for as least as long as recorded history goes, and that has been given many names since (slavery, feudalism, capitalism, fascism, ...).
To believe that we can't change society, that killing, plundering and suppressing each other, is in our nature, is the same kind of fatalism that the major religions on this planet call Destiny, Kismet, Karma and other names. Those who keep claiming they don't believe in religious bull****, should try to get over their "non-religious" fatalism as well.
