It's also why there's more American billionaires than British ones*.
*Possibly untrue.

1000 Million is 1 British Billion, but some people think of 1,000 thousand as a Billion. No idea what country it is but it isnt Britian.

Is anyone even taking this auction seriously? I mean, there are a lot bigger names that I'd expect to see bidding if this was even considered to be the slightest bit authentic.

To clarify, my bid was 24Billion, that is 24 thousand million for those who don't understand the decimal counting system.
I have yet to hear anything on converstaion or evemail from the person who started this auction with regards my suggestion about after the close of auction it should be placed on open escrow in a 1.0, 0.9 or 0.8 system.
I will not travel to 0.0 space or low sec space to purchase this BPO.

your wrong
the billion as 1000 millions is an american invention, only used in america and newly in england
in most other countries, 1000 millions = 1 milliards and 1000 millards = 1 billion
so dont even think the others are wrong, your the guys who ****** this system up
ahh and the tendency in science is to abondon this american versions, cause its just plain wrong

depends on
cause most countries use the "," as ".". I would write "1,25" and not "1.25" like in eve. I think thats one reason why you could scam so good in eve before exodus Wanna fly with me?

an english billion = a million million = 1,000,000,000,000
american billion = 1,000 million

And I'll tell you why as well:
The French decided that 1000 million was more correct and swiched to it - this was the system that was implemented in the USA. Then the french decided actually, they were right in the first place and switched back to the 'million million' system. Thus leaving the USA alone in thier definition of a billion.
Scientific notation follows the 'million million' system as a rule, even in the US. |

No such thing but in Donald Duck, but there's trillion, quadrillion, quintillion, etc...

Originally by: Dirtball If the trade window can only do 2.1 billion isk though, then there is potential for scammage. Was it your BPO or something?
GMs will act as a third party for this type of transaction, because of the 2.1b limitation in the trade/escrow window. I know this firsthand because that is how I sold, and eventually concluded the transaction, a Munnin for a coworker of mine... ------------------- |

I know I've seen escrows up to 1 trillion recently (just so there's no confusion, that's 1,000 billion...or 1,000,000 million ). So this should be a moot point.

Well i am sure this will most likely come as no surprise to anyone concerned, but I haven't heard a word from this seller after aparently winning this auction.
I can only assume it was never real to begin with, or that someone interjected, and contacted the seller directly to make a quick sale.
Would it not count as forum trolling to make up fake auctions? Hope this is sorted eitehr way, but this auction should be closed now.
