I'm sure CCP will want to target the WW crowd first and foremost, but, they'd be dumb to ignore the potential cross over subs from EVE. Presuming it has enough complexity and maturity to appeal to nerds who do or did do paper and dice stuff. Myself included.
How many EVE players would pass up the chance to be in before the lock on a new CCP MMO?  That incentive alone will result in a lot of non-emo-goth capsuleer trial accounts I bet! CCP would be pretty dense to not offer active EVE subscribers a discount to sign up monthly to WoD. Doing so would result in a massive influx of players immediately which is good for everyone.

I want a new Vamipre: The Masquerade - Bloodlines.
That game kicked so much ass it made Chuck Norris run for his money.
Is this going to be it? or am I simply being confused by the names?
Man.. times used to be easier when there weren't 10 different games all with similar/thesame namings.
Hell, even sequels to actual games (and movies for that matter) have been choosing to forgo name-uniqueness.
(AVP for example)

I very much doubt that WoD is going to be a themepark MMO.
For one, it's not CCP's style. They have proven that even though their sole product is a niche MMO they can still manage to fund 2 completely different game projects with just that revenue. They're not wanting for money.
Then there's the entire setting of WoD. It's plotting, taking people (usually other players) down, playing dirty tricks on others and generally doing whatever the hell you want. Doesn't seem very themeparky to me?
And lastly, CCP knows better than anyone that you don't have to be like WoW to be succesful - I don't think they will suddenly turn around on that.

The idea that VtM is not emogothcrap is laughable. It always has been, always will be, even with Twilight in picture. Point is, maybe emogothcrap isn't so bad after all

While its been a few years sinse I've played any table top games, White Wolf's world of darkness does not assume goth or emo (even if a lot of goth/emo stuff has a few ties to it)
The version I played had more in common with John Carpenter's Vampire movie than "twilight" (Main story teller was a retired Navy E-8 (Senior Chief Petty Officer). About half the group was ex-military, and the other half college kids that could behave well enough to be invited back by a group of veterans.
Play nice while you butcher each other.

I just wonder will it cover all White Wolf's creations or only vampire?
I just hope that if it is Vampire they will go to some part int he footstepf of Troika Games. In my opinion White Wolf's vampire is -NOT- emogoth-like.
It is alot more complicated and interesting than that.

I think and hope that CCP will take influence from things simliar to this. WoD is a very dark and violent world. No mercy at all whatsoever. I myself will play this MMO as well as EVE.
I just imagine the vision of being a prince over a region or something or even if possible a scheriff would be so awesome.
This of course depends on if they go by the 3th edition of Vampire The Masquerade and not Vampire The Requiem. If they go by Requiem I have no clue of how they will do it becuase in Requiem well, let's just say that a knifecut is not considered nonlethal damage as it is in Vampire The Masquerade. Thus if they go by the story in Vampire The Requiem a knifecut could kill a vampire, not a big chance but it could if you are very unlucky.
I allthough trust in CCP so far they have manage to impress me with EVE and if they take what is good in EVE and implement that into WoD. I just barely can hold my breath of what there is to see in WoD.
i hope they will make it as brutal and unmercyful and unforgiving as EVE.
As of the fact that WoD is plotting and it mostly gives you as a player the chance of doing what the hell you want for isntance go out on the street and rip a humans head of or empty them on blood. Of course this has consequences. Specially in Vampire The Masquerade as of fact that you did a Masquerade violation meaning that certain things can be done about your misbehaviour.
All in all though I know that CCP will do a great job. So far they have proven that they don't need to be like WoW to be good at it.

About time something official emerges on this. I mean the companies merged back in what? 2006? And all that came out of it to date has been an uninspiring card game.
I think if CCP stick with what they know and create a harsh world built on social mechanics more than grindy-wowy boss battles, this could be very very good with their sexy graphics engine.

I remember when WoD was just beginning to get mentioned...
Remember getting kicked out of alpha for illegally sneaking in... (NDA be damned, young me wanted a bantam with lasers - PWN SHIP)
God. I've been addicted to CCP stuff since 2002.

It seems like the countdown operates on the computer's clock, meaning that it will hit 0:0:0 at different times depending on your timezone. I'm at GMT+2, and it's reached zero. A friend of mine in England has one hour on the countdown on his screen.
Guess we have to wait 7 more hours if we're waiting for 7PM New Orleans time.

Don't worry. We've already been assured that this game won't receive any love from the devs for at least 18 months because they're too busy working on another MMO...

Well, that trailer had all that I expected it to have. I really feels like vampire in that trailer and the things she says is exactly what the vampire's in white wolf's world really is.
Anyway, looks awesome. But I would allthough say that goth is not the way of vampire. I mean a ventrue does not look like a goth they are mainly aristocrates.
The clan closest to the goth culture in my opinion would be Toreador.
But of course I do not know if this game is based on Vampire The Masquerade or Vampire The Requiem. If it is based on Vampire The Masquerade you will probably have these clans to choose from:

-IF- CCP includs the Sabbat, which I of course hope they will....but one limitation to if you have the Camarilla, the Sabbat and the Anarch you will have three different sides in the game mechanics which I dunno if it will work out properly. For CCP's sake I think that if they make the game based on the Vampire The Requiem ruleset and story.
The thing is that in Vampire The Masquerade everyone knows that Caine has existed/exists which I guess makes things abit more limited and in the Requiem thingsare alot more uncertain. Where for example no one really knows where the vampires came from the beginning. There are no things like the Camarilla or the Sabbat.
Also there is only five clans.
Daeva
Gangrel
Mekhet
Nosferatu
Ventrue
The rest of the clans are so called "bloodlines".
Well as last words I only hope that CCP really will put down alot of effort into making this game as awesome as EVE is.
