Confirming debauchery exists after hours during FF.
Also when CCP opened the party to the Reykjavik public in 2009, a respectable amount of cute girls filtered in. Overheard one of them say, "Why are there a bunch of geeks standing around looking at me?"

tbh booking now probably yield you cheaper prices than waiting for the packages.
When FF was first announced, the prices of the hotels/flight was a major lol, cheap as ever compared to what I paid for the packages.
ofc I can't vouch for the prices when the packages arrive as it is not really my area, but it was probably 1/3rd off the prices compared to earlier FF's (booking a year in advance).
but ofc I still hope that you will be able to pay your whole FF package (flight/hotel/entrance) with in-game ISK

Edited by: kveldulfson on 21/09/2010 07:26:38 I missed the last one but certainly intend to make this one, I have always had loads of fun in Iceland and as to being better off goint to spain or one of those "holiday" destinations you can do that anytime. There are plenty of good resteraunts and bars did not find a biker bar yet but will keep looking
And yes the locals are friendly
I have never booked a "package deal" after my first fanfest and I have saved a packet on flights and hotels that way from the UK

Schuko/Europlug, and obviously something to convert 230V @ 50Hz to 110/60. Anyway, it's the same as most of Europe. (odd places like the UK, Italy and so on excluded)

Check the fine print on the adapter: Big chance it says 110-240 V, 50-60 Hz, so all you need is an adapter for your plug... 10 bucks, tops, and most hotels can supply you with one sine its the thing people tend to forget, along with cell phone chargers.
..... booked, 15 March till 1st of April, skiing season is open in that period - got 2 spaces in the car for fellow geeks :-)

Good point, didn't think of that. On the other hand, nasty things can happen if they're not designed to handle twice the normal voltage.
Last year a guy from the US learned the hard way that Hotel Cabin didn't have adapters, so we checked at Hilton where I was staying. They did indeed ave adapters for sale or to borrow (I'm somewhat fuzzy on the details), but either way he couldn't have one.
The moral of the story is to either bring your own or check with your hotel beforehand. While finding a suitable adapter in a store on Iceland isn't too difficult, I'm sure you'll have better things to do while you're there...

I think you have a boat from Denmark to Iceland east coast (with a stop in Faroe), Reykjavik is on west coast. Fanfest date can be find here: Linkage To make it short: "The next EVE Online Fanfest will be held on March 24 through March 26, 2011 at the Laugardalsh÷ll Convention Center in Reykjavik, Iceland"

Hrm.
US$886 roundtrip from Minneapolis (where I am) to Reykjavik. At a value of US$17.50 per PLEX, and an average going rate of 316 million ISK per PLEX... that's about 16.2 billion ISK...
No problem.

You can also click the Fanfest 2009 button on the left, I just noticed that it probably should be FF2011 now, since all the offers are on there too. Looks like they updated but forgot to tell us about it.

Edited by: Rainus Max on 07/11/2010 21:04:41 Actual fanfest tickets pop up later IIRC.
Strange question, can anyone change the date of departure? For me its "stuck" on the 23rd therefore I cant fly from Manchester

The date wasn't showing up at all at first for me, turns out NoScript was blocking it. I'd assume you have a similar problem, although mine was for the dutch page.

I just booked for 23rd from Manchester but it looks like that is the only available date atm... you can pick other dates from Heathrow.

The range of options from Manchester and Glasgow is a bit poor! If I wanna go for anyting other than five days I need to go to London first.

You can probably book on any date you like, just not with the EVE Fanfest offers, you can always look into separate hotel arrangements and flight. The extra cost aren't that high, and it allows you to stay for longer periods of time.

If myself and my girlfriend both get the package deal (tix, accomodation, flight), can I then upgrade my girlfriends ticket to a Sisters of EVE one using PLEX? Or is she stuck traipsing around the convention hall with us neckbeards?

As I know the package deal only contains the flight to Iceland, and hotel.
Access to the fanfest/sister of eve, is separate. So when the tickets will be available, then just purchase the sister of eve for your girlfriend, and a fanfest access pass for yourself.

No. Fanfests were originally at a different time of the year (December or something, I don't actually remember) but they moved them to March so that it was a better time for people to be able to get to them. So rather than have another Fanfest three months later, they skipped the 2010 one entirely.

1 is fine for all three days.

CCP Got a math issue. In gaming industry standard 1$=1Ç, So I was expecting 75$ to go either on approx 56Ç (current rate) or 75Ç (most probable price). And what I get 69Ç !!! WTF CCP Are you crazy ???!!!

Golden Circle - EveFanfest 2011 Seat Pick-up 12.30 from Icelandair hotels and then departure from Laugardalsholl at 13:00. Return to hotel at 19:00
Is it supposed to sound so mysterious? guided tour of Iceland or does it actually have something to do with FF, I thought it was a bus to/from the event but it says March 23rd, isnt that a day early

Edited by: nihlanth on 03/12/2010 04:24:53 I notice that the "Walk through Ice and Fire" Hiking tour (that lasts 10hrs) is on March 24th or March 26th. Does this tour conflict with the main fanfest since fanfest is March24-26? If so, can I book this tour for March 22nd as to not conflict with fanfest?

I don't know if it is only for flights from Paris, but the only dates are either with a landing on 21 of march, or on the 24 afternoon...
So you have no choice: Either you come 3 days early and spend 7 days there, either you arrive the 24 afternoon and miss most of exiting annoucements and pannel :(
Do you have the same issue from other countries? Is their airport closed on week-ends?

Khadann, it's just that there is only nonstop flight on those days from Paris. Seems there is no daily flight from CDG to KEF.
