Ummmm Can someone do the Math for me on this a sec...

Does that really end up being 80k for tractor range?

Yes.
20 * (1+ 5 * 0.6) = 80
Compare it to the rapier who gets 40km webs from being 10 thanks to a 60% bonus. Parrots, commence!

That's gonna be pretty sweet. --- This doesn't even seem to be a regular case of rats fleeing the sinking ship. Seems more like the rats are on fire, the ship is on fire, and the sea is full of drunk Russians. - Jacob Etienne |

kinda awesome.. but My desty has over 1000m3 of cargo space and how is a BC not price competitive when this will cost about 500k isk...
That being said great use of that awesome hull. ------- "Because the Dominix is the Chuck Norris of Eve!" |

Well, my salvagecane has a bit over 4000m¦ cargo space with almost max expansion, meaning that for all intents and purposes there is no mission i cant clear completely.
However, my tractor beams reach only 20km, and speed with all that cargo expansion is real low, even with 100mn AB (not even the proverbial brick turns that slow).
From what i see on the stats for that baby though, it not only can clear the entire field by hardly moving from warp-in point, it can also be expanded massively, for over 3500m¦. Thats where it is more competitive. No running around in a slow ship, quick collection of salvage and loot, no extra travel time till you can go get another mission. Also, from BPO building reqs, this is also going to be a BC sized vessel, and t1 so price wont be too insane after initial rush so point is indeed made: wont be efficient to use a BC if you can afford that one. I'm getting one as soon as they hit the market and stowing my old salvagecane back with the other ships i dont use! |

Why do you have 4k cargo space on your salvagecane? Why would you ever need 4k (mine has 2k and I never fill it up)? But more importantly, that means you don't have Salvage Tackle rigs on it...?

I'd like to know how to fit a cane to 4k. I can't get over 3,3k (not that I would ever use that but just hypothetically).
And btw, noctis can get over 5k cargo if my math is correct (again, not that I would fit cargo rigs instead of salvage...). |

To answer both questions in one go, i got that much cargo coz i like to scoop up everything, and in some missions (Gone Berserk and Angel Extra for instance) i get over 3000m¦ of loot. And i dont need salvage tackles coz i already salvage fast enough that limiting factor is how fast i can get into tractor range
As to the how to get 4k, pretty straightforward, EFT it for confirmation, but i use these: 6x t2 expanders, 3x t1 cargo rigs, and a GSC (that is +900m¦), there you go. ---------------------------------------------- Some people say you should fight fire with fire... Nonsense of course; you should fight everything with fire! |

A BC is 15,000 m¦ packed... á How many humans will CONCORD allow Master Kuvakei and his True Slaves to abduct? How many is too many? Too many have already been lost! 20M citizens on countless planets! |

If that 3k somehow isn't enough cargo space, feel free to stuff in some containers for added space.
Actually I have no idea if you can put stuff directly inside a container (in cargo) from a another container/wreck in space.

You can, assuming the can is in a cargo hold. Not sure if it's in a corp hangar, say in an Orca, though. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |
